Car and driver pits V12 Vantage, R8 5.2, 458 Italia, SLS AMG against the Turbos S...

Not bad for a non Mezger motor

The thing that stands out to me is the steering feel and handling. Have read so many threads and articles saying the steering feel is to numb or not as sporty as other sports car competitors. But in this article both steering feel and handling were only second to the F458, and ahead of the others.
Maybe I am just confusing when GT3 and GT2 guys complain that the TT lacks steering feel and handling, I am sure when comparing the 2 cars they are right. But to me I think it should do the same or better then my C2S.

What is really amazing about the acceleration numbers is just how far ahead of everyone else they are. The numbers are on another level from the other cars...

The Turbo S doesn't steer as sweetly as the C2S - it can't due to the AWD. But it still steers better than 95% of the cars on the road.

That's almost as quick as flashed 997.2 turbo pdk
Here is what we got on from Protomotive flash w/93 octane and 88-90 degree

0-30 1.80sec <---- DAMN SPUN
0-60 3.46sec <--- DAMN SPUN
0-100 6.85sec
0-140 13.19sec

It ran 1/4 mile in 11.0@131

I'm sure it can ran better with tires even on 90 degree

BTW...That was a Sport mode not Sport +

I loved reading the C&D article as well - and seeing the 997.2 finish in first place in that expensive crowd was awesome.

With that said

I haven't seen *anyone* posting performance figures like the ones they recorded for a stock Turbo S. It makes me suspect C&D corrected the performance figures for altitude -- which will heavily favor a forced induction car. What's the best actual VBOX or dragstrip time anyone's gotten in a stock Turbo S so far ?

GT Porsche magazine just did a test in the UK.. 0-60 in 2.8, 1/4 @ 11.0 128 MPH.

I assume that the other cars in the test were run at the same time on the same track. The posted numbers appear to be similar to other tests of the same vehicle. The standard turbo has already been clocked at a sub 3 second 0-60 and 11 flat. The S has got to be faster.

Fundamentally I think a Turbo charged engine will not make any more or less power as a function of altitude than an NA car. However... Since the wastegate is computer controlled the ECU can just dial up more boost to equalize the effect up to the point where the waste gate is closed. I am sure there are plenty of technical opinions on this...

Sounds like it's time to take her to the drag strip!
