it would be cool to have a PDK conversation kit for .1 tt owners.

So all those items you listed are new on the .2 vs the .1? What year did the conversion switch over?

Don't go converting your engine just yet, the 3.6L is a tried and proven track warrior dating from back to Le Mans and the Porsche GT1.
If anything go for the Rotec Lights as a simple upgrade to get the 997.2 look.

Ever wonder why the 2011 GT2RS is released with a 3.6L engine despite being launched after the 997.2 TT and carrera?

There was a flow test somewhere in a thread regarding ICs...it tested 996TT,GT2,997TT and GT2 (same) and 997,2TT ICs...and found 997TT the best, followed by 997,2TT with small difference...Strange enough,GT2RS is using 997,2TT ICs...So they should be good for 620hp...arent they?

I am pretty sure that the Intercoolers are much more advanced on the newer Porsches I agree.
Tuners like Markski of 911tuning, Todd at Proto, and Neil Switzer have all made exceptional enhancements and come up with their own intercoolers.
What I am referring to is the engine. It is a bold statement for Porsche to go with the 3.6L over the 3.8 for the most powerful 911 ever made, scratch that. Most powerful Porsche ever made! The 3.6L has been tried and tested, the 3.8 is still a new(er) concept.
Porsche is an engineering genius, I am sure they are re-working the mold with the newer engine, I'm just sayin...

I plan to do my own comparison on the 997.1 vs 997.2 coolers, including a flow test. The .2 cores are 26% thicker and an inch shorter with better end tanks so I was surprised to see less flow through them, unless the core has been made substantially denser. I believe the new GT2 RS uses an even bigger core.
P.S. the flow test was made from AWE tuning...if i can recall right...I will do a search about it...
Just found it,its on the video of the Champion Motorsport ICs,where flow test was applied to 997TT and 997,2TT ICs...

Well,according to PET latest revision,both 997,2TT and GT2RS are using part no.997 110 639 70 and 640 70 (left and right) ICs...On the other hand,997,1GT2 and TT were using 997 110 639 00 and 640 00 (left and right)ICs...

2007-2009 have true dry sump GT1 based engines and G50 6 speed transmissions. They share this with the GT2/GT3/GT3RS/GT3RSR/GT2RS/GT3Cup etc.....
The 2010-on have the 3.8 wet sump aka integrated dry sump. Not used in racing, but produces phenomenal performance numbers. The pdk is really something, may be worth the price of admission alone.
