Lil Powell's 997.1TT EPL Flash!
Recently Matt (Lil Powell) picked up a 2007 Basalt Black 997.1 TT. Of course it could not stay stock very long. You don't downgrade from a 550rwhp (on motor) and 843rwhp (on n2o) Vette to a slower vehicle. So we had to start doing some modifications. We have a GMG Ti. Exhaust on the way from Mike @ AWDMotorsports. But our biggest addition is the EPL flash! I have known Tony for over 2 years, going on 3 soon. Working with him on both of my setups in the 996TT has been nothing but pleasant. I knew who we were going to use for this car.
The process itself is very simple. We next day the DME to Tony to have him get some information off of it. We received it back shipped the same way. The DME came back un-tuned, but this was purpose. We were testing the remote flashing capabilities. I have used the remote flasher for a very long time and where it is today makes it really a big reason why I still use EPL (constant changes it's even easier to get the car flashed, well that and Tony and them put up with me LOL). Now I did have one snag in this process which Tony and Robin both probably want to back hand me for LOL! I was trying to write the tune and kept getting a can't connect error. So I am freaking out... I grab the side of my laptop to move it and notice... I didn't have the USB cable plugged in... So I am like crap... Then I start the flash and what do you know it starts programming instantly. Got the flash done and took it out for a drive and WOW does it really help! Matt was VERY pleased with the new found power! We will continue to work with Tony and the guys at EPL when we upgrade the turbos in 6-8 months.
Some things to note and remember. The flashing does take longer than a standard 996TT so remember to have a charger on the car. The car will also sound like a hovercraft while flashing so if you have a Deed Restriction like we do on hovercrafts hope you don't have pissy neighbors!!!
And most importantly... Make sure you have your USB cable plugged in...
