Sneak Peak - New AP Carbon Fiber Intake 997.2 Turbo
#16
Our capabilities are pretty strong actually. Agency Power has been in business since 2004 and Vivid Racing since 2001. We have done quite well actually. Thats a hard judgement to pass and not an accurate one. Regardless, this airbox was produced by a partner of ours who is actually in the carbon aero business. They offered up the carbon part to us which is a replicate of the OEM box with larger pockets for cone air filters. We have then made changes to the box to accomondate our needs. They are producing these and other carbon parts for us. The manufacture of the 997.2TT airbox is different then that of our 997.1TT and 996TT airbox. Just the same as we have different sources for our CNC machine parts, exhausts, etc. You can read more about Agency Power Manufacturing Here.
Side note, there are different processes people use for carbon fiber. Prepreg, Vacuum, some are baked in a oven, some are piece, etc... Depending on process determines the style, look, and quality. Hand laid carbon fiber like our 996TT and 997.1TT boxes does not have the nice finish like the 997.2TT airbox does. Here is one of our 996TT original carbon airboxes we designed...

Much to be expected and will post results later...
The intake, like others built in the past, create a huge amount of low end torque, improve on the midrange, and then taper off. The main reason is the stock exhaust. The car is getting alot more air, the car takes that power and then basically goes to move it out to a plug aka the stock exhaust. The gains of the intake with the exhaust would be much more. Usually people do the stages of Flash, Exhaust, Intake. If this pattern was kept, the overall package would be quite a difference. We generally like to test our products on a stock car to show what just a bolt on would do. Our dynos varied between 500 and 525ft/lbs. Info to be posted later.
Our test 997.2TT is back to stock right now. Maybe down the road the owner will let us try it with the flash, exhaust, intake, ypipe
BTW would you dig this intake in Kevlar???

I am curious why you are posting in the thread? We can discuss things off line or by phone. That would be more appropriate and professional.
The CAD drawing does look similar and also looks similar to our 997.1TT airbox carbon cover, but that is besides the point. If you drew up a part, they produced it, you did not buy any or follow through with commitment, this is news here. We were going to use our existing 997.1TT box but they approached us with these. This manufacture of the carbon product decided to sell this part and other carbon parts to us. We then took the part and completed the intake. Who or what they did before is not to our knowledge in all honesty. Instead of making us look like jerks and having your chronies bash us, you should take this up with them.
As far as engineering and hardwork, I give you lots of credit, you take away credit from us. We already had a 997TT intake, this intake would have been created regardless.
I love the hate...
