Bump. Skand what on earth has happened to you my friend. Are you out there on the airport road smoking up those new tires?? What cooking??? Any news yet??

I hope to mount them and test before 2011.
Yes rain and snow here, soap... I "run" my WW Polo
Skand is still waiting for his tires I think...

Skand what happened to you?? I was wondering if Greece is all frozen over? The tires sure took ages. OK let us all now hear about these blessed times then and how much these 997tt.2 ic's have had a hand in the increases. And great news that you removed those stock rims finally . I'm sure the silver dymags will suit better than black on your car. We patiently await.....

Do you even need ICs where you live?

Guys,in order to write a final verdict regarding ICs I should say the following...
1)Bad thing is that when i got ready with new tires to run safely at high speed runs, weather got very cold and so there was no IAT problem...
2)However from data I collected with almost same abmient temp, the car is almost the same until 200km but gets a little faster at runs over that speed...Also there is a great consistency in runs/performance...
3)these ICs work very well...But they need a reflash for the ECU to take full advantage of the lower IATs...APR does not have/support it and so I really cant get the most out of them...I am pretty sure that with the proper reflash performance differences would be more than enough...

Skand,
Are you certain you need a re-flash for the addition of intercoolers?
I am not convinced.
If one needed a re-flash to take advantage of lower IATs, then you would think that one would need a different tune every single time ambient temperatures fluctuate.
Lower ambient temperatures certainly would lead to lower IATs. Does that mean we have to re-flash to take advantage of winter?

I'm Ok with you we do not need to retune each time IAT changes, and that's rignt efficient coolers produce the same effect than 10°C or more lowering AT...
I think Skandalis means that now his IAT is so low and stable enough he could retune to re-push a bit the limits and profit much the benefits of "controled"' IAT.
I think I will retune mine after the bolt of those parts (I had the Ic's in my garage from 1 month!) for the same reason, but we have to test warm and hot season too.
That's why I prefer a custom tune than a "generic-tune".

Exactly what I meant...To take full advantage of lower IATs you can push the motor a little more...With ambient temp of 16-20c I couldnt get IAT above 50c even after many repeated runs 50-250km...

My set of these i/cs has arrived in Florida. Thanks Suncoast Ric! I'll either pick them up or have them shipped. My plan is to put these on, change the clutch and see how the i/cs hold up to a Canadian summer and then next spring get the bigger vtg turbos.
I didn't get a chance to log iats on the stock i/cs when it was really hot here unfortunately.
