Intercoolers...997,2 Vs 997,1...Game over...

You can decide whether you order the .2 ducts from Porsche also and make it really plug&play or you modify the .1 ducts as mostly shown here which is no big deal.

If I buy the .2 ducts do i need the top and bottom piece's for both sides?
P.S. are the ducts guaranteed to fit?

I have been running the 997.2 intercoolers on my 996 tiptronic with alpha 28's....its 100 in houston these days and my iats while crusing are about 108...when i do runs they quickly go back down to 108

as this seems to be DURA V6, I would not trust these egt, they are at least 100 degrees higher for real.
not very much boost and very conservative ignition and lambda you drive!!! bad gas there?

You should ask him what he's mods have been done to the car. It is very impressive.

IAT only 12 degrees above outside temp is indeed impressive, independent of ignition and lambda!!

Sorry I do not kept logs,
but by 28/30°C AT my IAT reached the fatal 55°C early 5th when testing a 100-300 from 3rd gear.
By 18°C AT it happens only in 6th.
I'm waiting for <15°C AT to test again, I think it will be OK.
If the 997.2 Ics hold correct IAT till AT stays <15°C it is quite good with my localisation, but if I buy other Ics I think they would be TPC/proto 5", I'm pretty confident with Todd.
Nevertheless of course I will log and share if switch to them...

don't hold your breath about AM ICs being better all around than the .2rs ones.
If possible you should only commit to another set if you test it conclusively first.
The compromise between flow and cooling is pretty damn good in those coolers.

(while they are far more efficient than 997.1 Ics, it's OK)
My goal with Ics would be a set which hold IAT<50°C till AT is under or equal 25°C, I can undertsand >25°C perfs can't hold...
