MS109 or VP100 (Streetblaze)

A good buddy of mine convinced me to run some MS109. Filled up about 5 gallons of MS109 at 1/4 tank and the power increase was very noticeable. Recently I have been eying the VP100 street blaze and wanted some of you guys to chime in. I will be getting a separate race fuel map to switch over with my original tune and will be running 100% race fuel from time to time. Just wanted to know which one would be the most suitable, MS109 or VP100?

It all depends what you are tuned for. Race map is a generic term. Unless they tuned for ms109 then you probably won't get the complete benefit of ms109. VP100 contains ethanol and according to their data sheet, up to 30%. I suspect that VP100 has lower BTUs than ms109 but as I said, if you're not specifically tuned for ms109 then you will not likely see any real differences in performance (maybe greater BTU factor).

Even if you're 'tuned' for 109, you're also limited by your hardware. Running a higher octane may be safer (less detonation), but may not yield anymore power gains than running a 91/109 mix.

I agree. That is true for any fuel. Unless you can take advantage of the greater BTUs of a given fuel, one can only generate so much power. I've done several 60-130 runs with 91, pump 100, and ms109. Best performance for me has consistently been with ms109.

Did you run full MS109? Or was it mixed with 91?

When I do run, I usually run the tank down as far as I feel comfortable and then add a 5 gal can of ms109. So it's probably 1 part 91, 5 parts ms109. As Bonehead says, it all depends on your mods. With the right mods, you can safely make 700 hp on 93.

Im in love with ms109. Im probably making 50-60 more whp on race file than pump file. I also had good results with mixing 2 parts of 94pump and 1 part of ms109 on pump file. Never tried vp100 though.

MS109 and you can mix with the pump 91 cuz theres really noway to empty all the 91 in the tank so a little less than 1/4 tank of 91 with ms109 will give you a good safe boost in a race file mode
