Pirelli or Michelin

Ditto + the Pirellis were difficult to balance. Going back to PS2's soon.

It only lacks a tiny bit on wet performance compared to high performance street tires, but it excels in all other departments.

I've had PS2's, never cups, but I wouldnt recommend cups for a DD. If your interested, I've been extremely happy in all weather as well as track with my new Nitto Invo's they have been better than both the Continental ContiSport Contact 3's as well as the PS2's that I've had previously. Also they are cheaper (but at the rate Im recommending them the price is gonna skyrocket )

no cup tires for street. they do not respond to wet or cold weather.
i like the rosso's. i actually prefer it over ps2 which feels too soft in cornering. tirerack and others on the forum recommended ps2 which i wasn't impressed with.

I now have Corsa, but will try Michelin next. I have no problem with the Corsa as far as noise or stiffness, in fact love it; just want to try different things.
That new Michelin tire sounds very interesting!

+1, the grip is supposed to be amazing with the PSS. The TUV in Germany tested 7 or 8 supercar tires and it came out best. Still trying to find the test details.
It only lacks a tiny bit on wet performance compared to high performance street tires, but it excels in all other departments.

I was a Pirelli man went through (4) sets. This year I swapped for Michelins. I was nervous to say the least, as I know Pirellis intimately.
My observations; PS2's give you firmer ride, side walls are even stiffer than Pirellis. That doesn’t bother me, I prefer it. Less sway the better for me. I feel PS2's have only slightly better grip, however when they let go they let go a tad quicker with less transition. Really minor stuff, splitting hair.
The major plus from Pirellis is that Pirellis are notorious for steering wheel shimmy. Also, they really easily flat-spot meaning shimmy and vibrations each time I drive from garage for first 10-20km. That pissed me off!
I am now a PS2 man.

+1 call Damon, he's the man, I talk to him almost weekly regarding tires and all sorts of other stuff, he's very knowledgeable in his field.

would not recommend cups for daily use (cold and rainy days). after many sets of tires i always come back to michelins. cost more but are worth it to me. i vote ps2 or better yet, wait for the pss's.
