60-130 tests, drag racing, 1 mile, 100-300 KM ETC. Open Debate

There is merit to all of them but I lean towards the 60-130 and 1/4 mile.
I wrote an article about the 60-130mph time becoming the new performance standard. Many cars are too powerful for street tires and tracks not easily accessible are two main reasons.
Gearing and aerodynamics alone could totally alter the results of a car that dominates in the sub-150mph range where the vast majority of it's driving is done.
For a race, I disagree about brake boosting, a "properly driven" turbo car s/b brake boosted for full potential, it's just another factor like choosing the correct gear and turning off the traction control, etc.
As far as engine temperatures, I think it's a moot point if going from a roll as well.

My best PBOX 0-400m was 10,4, have in mind that my car is a convertible

Rob, will you be entering your car in the events?

I have done some calculation trying to estimate the 997tt number from the vette data. and here is what I came up with
using the acceleration formula. setting Vi 100kmh and Vf 200kmh as fixed values. estimating the distance to be at its lowest value 30m shorter. now we can estimate the time. I also calculated the error by using same method to calculate zo6 time and compare it to real( calculated VS actual ). I applied same error to the porsche timing to be more accurate.
100-200 4.5sec 190m ( subtracted about 22m from the zo6)
60-130 5.6 240m ( subtracted about 30m from zo6 distance )
taking in consideration this was 2 shifts run, so the car could save about .6 sec like with evo car. 100-200 4.79 with 2 shifts and 4.14 with one shift.
I think the car we have is capable of low 4 or high 3 sec 100-200
I could be wrong with my calculation or method used, but this was my best try.

I have been bouncing this off Peter and I just have not made of my mind. If one of the EVOMS monster builds is present, then most definately I will enter the event(s).
Cheers

Rob,
Why don't you try beating one of the 750RWHP Supras or Mustangs at the event first before you go stepping up to the big boys.If i remember correctly "lil bluey"had trouble with them the last time.Better yet post one verifiable performance number on your car.

lol, your a good sport.Seriously though, you should just do a couple of the events as I am sure it will post impressive numbers.:-)

I am seriously thinking about doing the dyno and maybe the 60 to 130. Depends on the weather and if Todd K is there. I don't like doing the dyno without him watching the motor. I am certain you are aware of the cost of these motors and doing something stupid can really ruin your day.

Rob, you have been promising to go to one of Peter's 60-130 events since I first started going to TX2k back in '08.
It has never happened and I doubt it ever will. There is not one verified number on your car in any of the performance catagories except the mythical number of kills on the Mexican Hwy.

Ouch! So much hate for what? I am at every event from the mile, texas jam, supra nats etc.... it is just a car which was built back in 2007. I am certain it is not the fastest anymore but back in 2007 it was one of the fastest.

EVOMS - I don't understand what you're really trying to ask? Of course 60-130 isn't the ultimate performance test. But it is something that most everyone can safely do and globally compare. Very few members read more into the numbers than need be. If your prospective customers are complaining that your results are slower than your competition, then go out and run a better number.
As for your comments re other tuners, let your ***** drop and make a real call out.
