Need feedback on DME readout from 997 turbo I'm purchasing...
Looking at purchasing a 2007 997tt, CPO, 27k miles. Dealer has been great to work with thus far and has sent me the inspection report from the CPO and also a DME readout from today. Here is some of the info:
Number of ignitions:
Range 1 = 1730...766.4h
Range 2 = 158...766.4h
Range 3 = 26...766.4h
Nothing for range 4,5,6
Operating hours counter = 769.800
There is also a line that says total distance. The number reads 43740.000. Wondering if I can get some feedback on what the total distance is. I hope that is not the actual mileage the ECU has recorded since the car has 27,xxx miles on the odometer. Also, should I be worried about the Range 2 and Range 3 ignition counts? Thanks in advance! Hoping to be a 997 turbo owner soon!!!

Range 1 & 2 are no big deal. Range 3 over revs are minimal and wouldn't bother me at all. Nothing in 4 -6 is good and what you really needed to be concerned about. Looks like all of the over revs occurred about 3 hours ago. Wonder if the boys in the shop were having some fun or if someone on a test drive missed a downshift.
You can take your mileage, divide it by the hours counter and determine average speed for the life of the car; in this case ~ 35 mph which seems plausible. If you got a very high or low number you might wonder if something had been tampered with.
I don't know what the 43,740 number is but, like you, I'd want to understand why it's different than the 27,000 on the odometer. Perhaps others can help on that one.
Other than that open question, it looks like a clean report to me. Best,
