I've stated this in other posts. I don't know what I my hot lap the Nurburgring would be. But I did lap my local Walmart lot in 3:19.

Anyway as I mentioned, if you have the means to buy one of these cars I would encourage you to drive one in the heat of the moment before you determine it's not for you simply because of the LSD 'issue'.

Racer Magazine article 'First Drive: McLaren MP4-12C' can shed some light on this issue and the likelyhood of a 7min run

Carefully watch the windscreen and the road in the video between 2:25 and 2:45; particularly watch the inside of the carousel(?). Was that a dry lap?

However I do think sub-7 is complete rubbish.

Road looked dry. And the rain drops on the windshield - didn't seem to accumulate.

Either way...sub 7 seconds, lol.

I have to admit I would consider long and hard between a GT2 RS and the McLaren.

Doubt any car could be as bulletproof as the RS as a driver and who knows about long term depreciation. The McLaren is much more "exotic" even if the interior is a bit plain.

TopGear said the McLaren was bland and sole-less. I'll take the RS on the smiles per mile factor alone.
