RING time under 7mins by 'true' production car....sorry it's NOT a GT2 RS
i was jacked when it was revealed that the GT2 RS completed the RING in 7:18 Steve Sutcliffe (highly respected) from Autocar Magazine hinted that the boyz from Woking mentioned in passing that the just introduced McLaren MP4-12C supercar completed the RING in 7:00 mins DEAD and that some runs have been UNDER 7:00 mins...........WOW ! would like to hear any thoughts and how can this be! 599XX/Zonda R have gone under 7mins but these are TRACK ONLY dedicated hypercars costing over $1 mil!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets assume it is true.....how does this get by Porsche and Ferrari who a self proclaimed "TRACK' stars how is it that the 7min barrier has only been broken by 'track only' HYPERcars and if the 'rumored' time does pan out now achieved by a 'true' standard production supercar. not even the proposed for production HYPERcar 918 Spyder (hybrid over 700hp) comes close to breaking this barrier when not tracking the 12C rides like a MB E class! HOW how did porsche and ferrari MISS OUT on this technology! would like to hear from "track" guys as to the question HOW did the 12C do this?

Sure might be stock Chasis and engine wise..
but the run might of been on slicks special alignment etc...
Sorry guys I find it hard to beleive that it comes near a Radical SR8LM that weighs 650 kilograms and had a 455 horsepower mid engined V8 ...
Especially with the outdated pirelli corsa tyres that come as an option on the Mp4-12.....

The "ring" is a magical place; the stuff of myth and legends. That's why just enjoy the videos and photos and put very little credence in the "reported" times. The McLaren may or may not have been stock, but it's still a purpose built car that is not really intended for the daily driver crowd.
The reports from the liars club are fun to read, but then it seems like every time I read the race results (like the latest 24 hr Rolex Daytona) it's Porsche that's in 1st.
And you're right...the new McLaren does look kind of like a Tesla.
