Keithta Ethanol E85 Porsche 997 Turbo Breaks the Porsche 60-130 Record!
After a long year of tweaking and improving the performance dynamics of my 997 Turbo, I finally have what I believe is the perfect setup
for a daily driver that also possesses an optimum power band for drag and street racing.
I have been working closely with David Hart at Proto Tech in Fort Lauderdale & Todd Knighton of Protomotive in Arkansas to pull this all
together.
Todd handled the E85 ECU tuning tweaks and adjustments based on my data logs and my feedback and provided plenty of helpful advice. David designed & assembled the E85 fuel system and handled my motor build which included (rods, head studs, liners, o-ringing, and addressed a number of other weak links in the 997 motor to handle the power accordingly). My car still possesses the stock head (no porting or cleaning), maintains the stock intake manifold, throttle body & cam shafts.
Alot of R & D and a ton of time went into getting this car perfect and Im totally psyched over the way everything has turned out!
So now that everything had been wrapped up, I was ready to put the car to the test. I went out the other evening in an attempt to break the current standing 60-130mph porsche record on the 6speedonline.com board.
Here is the run down:
1st run: Turned off traction control (intervenes too much under hard acceleration): Car is running AWD...but nonetheless, once boost came in hard the tires began to break loose at around 75 mph. The car stayed a bit sideways till about 95 mph but I stayed in it as long as I could until the car started to get away from me. I had to lift off the gas to regain traction and quickly got back on it and shifted into 4th and pulled a 4.58.
2nd run: This time the car wheel hopped a bit when boost hit hard in 3rd but hooked up for the most part pretty well. Followed up with a quick up shift to 4th and I turned a 60-130 in 4.14 seconds in 592 feet! Here is the copy of the run which I sent to Scott for verification:
After the 4.14 I threw in the towel and drove home. I could have done some more passes to take a shot on improving on the 4.1 but I
decided to stop while I was ahead to avoid any risk of sliding off the road. Figured there was no need to push it further...Well....that is unless someone one ups my time. ; ) I am certain the car has a 4.0x/3.9x (in colder weather) - too warm here now in S. Florida).
Bottom line, the car is violently fast and I must say has scared the living sh*t out of some (Ive had a handful of people literally scream bloody murder under acceleration) and surprised many that have gone for a ride. Lots of fun, downright scary but enjoying every minute of it!

Congrats and well done. Sounds like the car is an absolute missile from a highway roll. It's great to see the bar getting pushed higher. I guess it's time for us to make a few more 60 - 130 pulls now!

Hey I saw your beast at Prototech during my last vacation!!!Mr Hart and his work are "impressive" to say the least....I enjoyed talking to him for half an hour about modding 911's....he talked to me about your car and said "this is gonna break the 60-130 record"..
