Valentine 1 - All Bogey, Logic or Advanced Logic

I'm not really sure where to post this so I'll try here first. I purchased a V1 yesterday and read the owners manual last night. I am coming from an Escort and I have no experience with the V1. I currently have i set to All Bogey Mode, factory default. What do you guys recommend for the mode, All Bogey, Logic or Advanced Logic? I assume each mode simply decreases the sensitivity. Any help and feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

I leave mine on advanced logic; works very well and eliminates most of the irrelevant ones.

I run mine on logic. Always have, since I bought my first V1 when they first came out in the early 90s (as far as I can remember). Have been happy with the setting. I chose it because it appeared to me to be the best compromise between too many nuisance alarms and sacrificing too much sensitivity. Have never attempted to find out how much sensitivity, if any, I would sacrifice by going to advanced logic.

Excellent move to V1, but Escort's Redline is getting very close to V1... a lot closer than with its older units.

I use the big L...but it still has way too many false alarms for my taste.

I still prefer my K40s. Although I put the passport in the F car...so far it's ok

Cool. Thanks guys. I will try it on Logic first for a few days and see how it goes. If I get too many false alarms I will switch to Advanced Logic.

Much appreciated,
Adam

I've been using advanced logic for the last 8 years with zero problems (and zero tickets )

Advanced Logic on city streets and freeways near built up areas. All Bogey for open roads.

Valentine one has been out for a long time. I've always wondered how does it compare with the new Passport models? Had there been any improvements made with the firmware updates?

Not sure how it compares to Passport, but I do know that even though all the V1's look the same throughout the years there have been hardware and firmware updates. On their site you can enter your serial number and they'll tell you the available updates for your model.

The thing I really love about the V1 compared to others is the arrows. Can't live without them now.

Oh and a small side note. One time I was switching cars and put the V1 up on the sunroof while I moved some other things. I forgot about it and went for a drive. The V1 ended up getting tossed by the wind onto the highway at 30+ miles an hour. It got banged up a bit but still works like a champ. These things will last you forever!
