Another Speed Record Set.... 234.6 MPH in the Standing Mile
#46
lol Get some class. You didn't see me go on any of Bellos threads bragging about how I shattered his record, that he took 2.years to set,my first time at the mile on the cars 3 rd pass and with a car that was a good 750 lbs heavier.I am amazed the guy can get out of bed wiith all the hands down there.

Bellos has been working on that platform for twenty years , it should be faster . The 997 is still being worked on and progressing just like the 996 did. When you have new obstacles (oem ECU, weight, ETC) to overcome it just takes more time.

Who said we cant go faster?? You think this is it for this car? This is just the beginning.

A lot of things are against the 997TT...as Luis said weight is a big factor, rolling drag resistence from the width of tires (can be easily >50hp at those speeds), and the biggest difference is in aerodynamic drag, Bello's car is a narrowbody 964, one of the lowest CDA factors in any Porsche produced. The difference in drag at 230 mph should be somewhere around 200HP between both cars, it can be calculated very easily, and then comes downforce, again, the 997 will have a handicap of >200 lbs at those speeds.
These are totally different achievements.

Dam Diablo!
That beast should be painted red! Incredible speed for a very short period of R&D! Truly, all these jeolous remarks are very immature and not appropriate thus congrats to all those who help make this Porsche a menace to the Texas plains!

Todd,
can you show the 60-130 and 100-150 mph times?
Can you email your dbn to pinkmpower@hotmail.com so I verify your 100-150 time.

234.6 Run/Video
Thanks for all the kudos guys and lady.
I'll pass it on to the full team, especially Zuccone, Bray and our fearless "Tuning European Driver" Mike Paridis from Greece.
Today I received 6 cameras of video and pics, of course, ALL formatted differently... but, I think these short clips captures what you all REALLY want to see!!!!
