Vid, I chuckled when I saw your comment about giving your bank account a rest. Just finished up putting my trailer away and putting the car to sleep. Had planned on doing a few more events this year but made the mistake of adding up what i've spent this year on this hobby and it is truly staggering.

CFRA Sonoma Raceway Qualifying: 09-22-2013
First flying lap from the qualifying Session on Sunday. Lost my Pagid RS19 pads during Practice Session 2. Didn't have any backup pads other then stock Porsche OEM pads...bedded them in 10 minutes before this flyer! We only did one out lap and then 3 flyers before hitting traffic.
HLT Clocked the lap at 1:47.112
AMB Official Timing & Scoring Clocked it at 1:47.116
Yellow 911 Race Car ahead of me 1:46.646
CFRA Sonoma Raceway Qualifying 09-22-2013 - YouTube
During the race the Yellow 911 was able to maintain his half a second gap per lap...thus, leaving me 4.912 seconds behind for a second place finish. I fought to the end waiting for traffic to hopefully play in my favor at some point. Came close a few times...just not close enough.
Cannga: Suspension is still a bit too soft for my liking. We are max'd out on the rebound damping (full stiff) while the compression damping is about 75% toward full stiff. We are still experiencing some minor porpoising under hard acceleration while exiting the turns. I only have two races left this year so we will leave everything as is for now. During the off season are current thoughts are to send the bodies out for custom valving and install stiffer rear springs.

Your suspension tuning is now in professional hands and frankly beyond any level that I am familiar with. But yeah, I would think stiffer, lower, and full slick if you are gonna catch that yellow son of a gun. What I wonder is, and it would be so interesting to know, had you started out ahead of him, do you think he would be able to pass you?
Great thread with such interesting information. And lastly it remains a miracle and a mystery to me why your car's paint is still so good.

Yeah, I know you're never supposed to add stuff up. I once did this with my turbo and was shocked. Must say I miss those days
It's not just the car. It's everything else - the hotels, the coaching, and then of course the constant maintenance and consumables on the car. And then, like everything else in life, something always comes up, or a repair you were not expecting. It seems every month i'm somehow surprised when my AMEX bill comes. I'll think it will be a "Light" month and I open it up and i'm like WTF!? how can that Be? I'll go thru the charges and it's "oh, forgot about that" LOL.
It could be worse though. I know a guy with a cup car that is spending close to 25K PER MONTH! When I can't take it anymore i'll just get a spec Miata LOL.

Hey Guys,
I am not quite smart enough to figure out the multiple "quoting" replies for some unknown reason...I can never seem to make it work???
E55AMG: Yeah, my wife keeps asking how many more races this year? I am actually looking forward to some outlay downtime. Unfortunately the outlay is just going to be diverted from car stuff to remodel stuff. Its my wife's turn to play for awhile.....not sure whose habit is going to be more costly this year? BIG
Cannga: I have been battling with him for a few races now. That car is just incredibly fast out of the exits...its just crazy what a light weigh flyer can do. He is 1,600 lbs lighter then I am in full race trim! He actually thought I was going to drop him at the start, but I blew it...I was in third gear when the flag dropped. I should have been in second! Last race at Laguna I did get the hole shot and managed to hold him off for seven laps until we hit traffic and he was the lucky recipient. Upon doing so, he seized the moment while we were going through turn 5, as I had to lift for sound.
Steamboat: Indeed; NEVER add up your receipts!

NO ****! Sometimes I feel like I am spending just as much as those CUP guys!

...and the beautiful thing, at the end of the day I get to drive my TT back home with the AC on and XM cranking through the Bose surround sound system!
Plus would you really want to be driving around with Miata on a trailer behind you?

^sweet I guess I'll have to funnel mine through VID997TT photography.
Watched the video a couple times, can see where I'm making my mistakes, T7 I'm treating as a single apex, I short shift through the esses to 4th. T2 is just all wrong for me.
