Speed Bumps, driveway and...

For guys with the 2011 911 Turbo S, not sure if the Turbo's have the same ride height. I can only get into my driveway in a heavy angle and very slowly. I can live with that. But how do you guys navigate speed bumps and other inclines? I really don't want to mess up the front lip. Also, are the side skirts vulnerable on the car as well?

Thanks,

Jeff

You could put one of the hydraulic front raising and lowering lift kits on it, otherwise periodically replacing the front lip is a lot cheaper than the kit.

Girots garage sells a not cheap ($400) very heavy duty rubber thing that fills the gap in a driveway nicely not cheap, but should last 30 yrs.

I would need to bring one with me where ever I go. My kids school had speed bumps that look scary from the drivers seat of the 911!

My tt is lowered. Just go slow. The front end lift is cool, but not cheap. And don't worry about the lip, that's a disposible.

I scratch my front lip all the time...I've even pull it half out from the bumper once or twice parking into those annoying bumps in front of teh parking space...but it's cheap to replace! Never had an issue scraping the side skirts!

Turbo S stands for "scratched" in my case...

Sometimes I'm in a situation where I can't get the car in an angle as much as I need to (ie. busy gas station). So it scrapes. Just do the best you can I guess.

nothing you can do. As others said the OEM spoiler is basically a disposable item.

I have a +2K techart front spoiler (and car is also lowered) and I cringe at most every driveway/entrance I enter. you know what? worse case I remove it and paint it over. Besides, most of the damage you will do is on the bottom and won't be visible.

I've never had an issue with side skirts hitting anything.

I've scraped mine so many times I don't worry about it anymore. I still try to be careful but if it hits, such is life with a lowered car.

I have the OEM aero kit, I scraped the hell out of my front lip even when I drive slow at an angle over speed bumps and inclines...

They definitely suck in the ground clearance department. If you laid a CD down in front of the car it would probably scrape on it...

I think my front lip actually scratches when someone looks at it more than a second...but this is the life that we chose. Don't worry about it, I scratched mine as soon as I exited the dealership.

I will never paint mine. I trim the fringe with a box cutter every month or two.

I beat the crap out of my original OEM one, just became a fact of life... but I'm a glutten for punishment, just ordered the gorgeous Techart Lip and getting GT2 sideskirts all painted and installing the nose lift kit... hopefully will become a thing of the past.
