These Porsche dealers need some lessons in this coming of age "sharing their weallth."
These dealers are pedaling toys... toys that we are emotionally drawn to. I can't blame them at all. They have the upper hand as we have called on them for something we want. If I was the dealer, I'd do the same. It's all about profit and it's not like they sell 100 per year...

Most of us will lose our butts on these cars, but you shouldn't even buy one unless the money you spend would have zero affect on your life if it simply disappeared from your bank account. IMO, you buy toys with [spare] cash.

(then again, I bought an 06 4S 2 years ago and sold it 3 months ago for only $5K less than I bought it for... both buyer AND seller made out on that sale.

I just picked up a 2008 turbo cabriolet from a porsche dealer in northern california with less than 14000 miles for about 89000. Car was cpo but I opted to save since money and have it un certified. I plan on buying third party warranty and get six years instead of two for twice the price

What was the dealer's original CPO asking price? Just trying to gauge how much the dealers are willing to deal. Thanks.

I almost purchased an 07 turbo for $79000. Basalt black/black, carbon interior package, adaptive sports and PCCBs. It was a great looking car. I just didn't like the way it handled. I

I ended up with an 09 CS which I feel handles better. Of course that huge grin is missing from the acceleration.

I still think you should be able to get one with CPO and 15k miles for $80k or less. I just drove mine home this past weekend BTW from SoCal...Had 10,990 miles, CPO, and the build sheet is a page long! I will put up a thread and pics soon!

Depreciation

Anybody looking or driving these cars and complaining about the tremendous depreciation has got no one to blame except themselves. If you don't know what you're getting yourself into when you buy these rocketships, you should'nt own one.
There are plenty of VW's and Honda's out there if your looking for value. These types of vehicles are pure, over the top luxury items. Deal with it or get out of the game.

Good grief, never had heard such crap. Sounds like one of those extremely spoiled young pre 25-30 adolescents, having had all essentials+non-essentials repeatedly handed to him. One day young fellow, after some inevitable bad judgement callls, you'll soon sense what life is really about.

I bought my well optioned 2008 CPO'ed in low $90s with 3k miles about a year and half ago. I don't see why one couldn't get 2007 for 80's to high 70's. Pricing will get better after summer of course.

Sounds like someone can't stand the heat...Young is relative, my dear man. If by young you mean purchasing my first Porsche in 1972, and having bought and paid for the next 6, from 911 to TT...then why yes, I guess perhaps I could be considered young. If by young you mean not having collected Social Security yet, why then yes, I'm young. If you mean young as being a self employed businessman, who likes his cars and loves his Porsches...well yes again.
Insofar as being crap, when did you begin considering the depreciation of a 911? When you first tried to sell it? On the way out of the showroom? There are ways to minimize it, like buying used, or holding on to it for 30 years, but a luxury sports car is just that...and a Porsche has never really been considered an investment, unless you buying a classic, not a new one.

Advise your children, not me.

I just bought a 07 997TT Wht/Blk, CPO, 141K MSRP, with 2600 miles on it and I paid 89,900 which I thought was high but it was the color and options I wanted. So I have been searching for several months and I think you can buy a decent Turbo in the mid to high 70's but to get a perfect low miles car you will pay in the 80's. If you find the car and options you are looking for buy it and enjoy, and when it is time to sell someone will probably have the same criteria you had and will pay up for the car you own!!

After ~4 years isnt 50-60% value about right though? Break that down to what she cost you monthly to own (exlcuding tax, running costs etc) and it may surprise you.

Best year/buy/color for a GT3?

Looking to buy a GT3. Test drove a 2011 loaded. Would think get better deal on a 2010 or older. Any thoughts on which of the years is best for the GT3 or getting the newest is best? Also, would like to hear people's opinion as to the hottest color, best price for an older than 2011? I know these a lot of questions, but I am curious what the purists think. Thanks

I would think 50 percent is about right considering lease residuals after three years probably hovers at close to 60% meaning these cars should be selling for 45-50 cents on the dollar if it is a 2007
