How about an Audi? I really like my A6 4.2. In fact, I'm on my second one. Very safe, awd, holds 5 comfortably, large trunk, plenty of power, great road trip car, good gas mileage and for whatever reason, they didn't hold their value really well. You should be able to find a very clean, low mileage one that's ~ 3yrs old for ~ $30K. Best,

Cadillac CTS (V)
My company cars have all been CTSV's recentl;y and have been nothimg but ahppy with them - The V however gets terible MPG. The CTS won a couple of awards several years back and is very comfy and dependable. I know have a GMC Arcadia Denali and love it. Excellent room, handling, MPG, and features. I cought it to pull may boat and have more room over the CTSV. Cool vehcile even with 2 sunroofs, 120VAC plug, rear TV/DVD. smooth ride.
Prior to my CTSV's I drove Yukon Denalis as DD's and they rock but MPG rocks but vry comfy and safe but also VERY large. Sometimes trying to find a parking space can be a challenge.

I currently have the Jeep SRT8. I plan to buy a Porsche 911 soon, and plan to keep the Jeep as a DD. The mileage is terrible, but it is a blast to drive around town. You can also take the Jeep out in the snow, I drive mine year round in Ohio.

Now considering trading both of our SUVs (XC90 and V8 Touareg) for a V6 Touareg and X5 4.8i. Probably going with an e70 but I dove a e53 06' 4.8is and fell in love - unfortunately they aren't very reliable and would require me to purchase an aftermarket extended warranty and maintainence plan. Sucks because the "is" drives like an M.

Bought one new for my wife back in '05 for her daily driver and grocery getter. Imola Red over Cream Beige. She loves it but the air shocks are apparently a consumable item.
58k miles on the clock and on the ceramic pads I installed at 8k if that gives you any indication of how easily it's driven.
YMMV,
Nels
PS. And don't get me started on the E46 M3 I had...

I've been driving my 08 E350 instead of driving my 10 E63. I get ~23mpg vs 13mpg on my E63. The E350 is a super reliable, gas friendly, lots of gadgets car and can seat 5 adults comfortably.

Without question. Volks GTI. I drive an S63 Benz and my daily is a GTI.. I have owned many cars and yet to find one as Practical and fun all in one.. The DSG is a blast and I can easily fit my 3 kids and a bunch of Lacrosse or soccer gear in the back.. I'm 6'2 and have the seat all the way back and my kids still have the all the room they need.. 27MPG is a nice bonus.. If you want to step it up a bit.. Golf R will arrive in the US in Jan 2012. Only problem there is you many never grab the keys to any other car.. MSRP was 30k and I paid 27k for in last May.. Go test drive one and I promise you will drive away with it.. Enjoy

drive your 997 TT daily. Thats what I do. Except snow, I DD. Even at rainy days, 997 TT is fun to drive.
In Turkey we pay 200.000 Euros = 290.000 USD for a 997 TT. Taxes are "high".
Why should I keep it as a garage queen and sell it close to brand new after 4-5 years?
The second owner will be the lucky bustard.
We all get old, and new P car models come out. So enjoy your 997 TT. Drive it each day. Put as many miles on it as possible.
Sooner or later you will buy a new P car. So enjoy it each day.
We all know that the interior is designed so that you can drive many hours with no issues. Getting in and out of the car is easy as well, not like gallardo headache.
