In South FLA a absolute must +it looks great. It keeps the surrounding onlookers from glaring at my "gorgeous" wife. First upgrade on EVERY car I buy.
I dont know why it doesn't bother me, but I've always had tints in all my previous cars, but this one I think I'll pass. Maybe it's me but I dont think that they look good on light color cars. Then again it's just my stupid brain. |
I dislike tint and live in a hot climate .
1) makes a new car look used . 2) reduces visibility at night 3) polarized sunglasses are all one needs 4) interior can be protected by parking indoors but even outdoor cars don't benefit that much to make the tint worthwhile . |
For me, this car should be tinted right when you drive off the lot. The full leather interior just gets killed. You will start to see the top of the door panels get sun damage and look pitted.

Tinted windows is a must for any tropical or desert climate environment. If you don't like the shade of tints, but want 110% of the benefits, go with Huper optiks. These are the sh1t, literally. you can "tint your car, but not even notice you have them, but at a cost.

tint is a must have on any car... for me its just about privacy.... sometimes you wanna pic your nose ya know ? :p
I also love the way it looks, every car I've ever had has and will have tints. Sometimes if Im in a car without it, I feel like Im in a fishbowl for everyone to look at  |
I love mine - I really think it depends on the color

Ive got a 5% all around on my black C63 and I think it looks killer. I love the privacy and appreciate the fact that people can't see what's inside my car.
Personally, I think tints of some kind are a must on any car. |

I hope your wife is not the one in your avatar. I wouldn't call her gorgeous, I would call her HAWT!

Then again it's just my stupid brain. It is (pic is about 10 years ago and she, 32 years old :) , and was a model of various types). She is the sweetest lady I have ever met - she is too good for me, well educated and very successful. I just think tinting is a MUST. It reduces the temp in the car, can be had in many different colors (I normally settle for a black tint no matter the color of the car), privacy, Security ( can be applied thicker to prevent glass shatter). Applicator is the key for a good tint job. I have used the same guy for at least 10 cars in the past 4-5 uears. |
I'm not a fan of tint regardless of climate.

I lived in D.C. for 9 years. I agree, you don't need it in the Mid Atlantic. Move here. You'll change your mind.

I also feel visibility (especially at night) is essential for safety . I also feel that tint gives theives the ideal cover of darkness and doesn't give the cops the ability to see the driver with the same clarity . |

They're just amazing as your cabin does not cook at ALL, even at 40C plus you can keep your A\C on the low dial and will always maintain the visibility as they're completely transparent/clear if you choose the "tintless" version. |
Level of tinting?
What is the recommended tinting level for a guy in the midwest that does not worry about limiting interior heat but just enough to tint the windows so that when folks look in, they can see my see my silhouette but not me?
When I'm driving or stopped at a light, I like to look around me but always feel funny as if I'm looking so that I can see who is looking at me and my sweet car! It's a bit awkward and I like to fly under the radar (I could never own a Ferrari for the even larger gawker factor). Usually at a light, I just look forward. I'd like a little privacy if I want to look around without folks able to easily see I'm looking at them or looking anywhere. Make sense? I do not like the real darkened windows, I'd like them as light as possible while meeting my needs. Thanks! |
