And it's down to 2 - help me decide

I used to have 996TT in Slate Grey - loved the color for all the years I had it. I have Natural Leather Grey interior in my current TT - it does look very dark but is distinctive and not as common place as black.
LSD is a great option to have, especially for track use.
If you plan to use car as a daily driver I would caution agains aftermarket exhaust - you'll get eventually annoyed by the drone between 2,500 and 3,000 rpm.
Good luck with you choice.

My slate grey always seems to look grey, not sure where you heard about the other colors you see in certain lights Michael!
In regards to the exhaust ... paging member AlexM. We must have tried 5 exhausts on his 997.1 to get the exhaust note just right to his liking. He can certainly give you guys a quick review but he ended up with Stefs Europipe stage 1. After test driving all the exhaust systems that were installed, I wholeheartedly have to agree with Alex that the Europipe is the best sounding system with almost no drone at all. The system has a very nice raspy/bubbly tone to it at idle, a little bit louder than factory during low rpms, and gets loud when you open it up in the higher rpms)
Note that exhaust tone is a very personal preference but we've now installed 3 Europipe systems on 997s and the owners all share very similar opinions.

Easy choice if it were me: the 2007 Slate Grey. I think it is a much more stunning color than the basalt black and it also has the diff lock. 7k miles versus 11k is nothing. I say you work on getting the numbers a bit better to your liking on the slate grey and bring her home soon.

In searching this forum and other places, people mentioned that Slate has some brown in it. Also when looking at the car in person on Saturday, I could see some shades of brown in it (at least I thought I saw the browns). I'm not saying it's brown, but in direct sunlight there seemed to be some earth tones to the color.

Black on black so common and nice to have some contrast on the car. I'd want to pick my
own exhaust and will they CPO a car that is not completely stock? Ask because that may be the case. Had a Basalt Black car, very hard to keep up.
'07 seems to have had a meticulous owner, the color and stock exhaust would get my vote.

IMO...better choice with the 07. The color is nice, very good options and the interior is in better shape. I don't care if a car had 5,000 miles, it's not easy to bring the interior back to shape versus something on the outside. Congrats on your future purchase!

They are the real deal. I listed the options on both vehicles before the specific cars. I believe PCCB was the 4th item. Either way, they are real.
