no, VW is actually taking part in the WRC next year with a 1.4L-300HP Polo, i don`t think both will ever compete in one racing series.
Audi is concentrating on the LeMans Series and the Touring Car Championships, here is the WRC VW Polo:

 

This is one of Audi stupid policy instead of having a super car to beat and compete with other models they either limit and shave the production and rise there prices insanely
Or they some time release it super very late like what they do with the RS6
and like this A1 if this was a normal production car ahhhhh I just wish to see how will it preform next to BMW M1 and how will BMW take the beat
