Sure they are close in acceleration and the Porsche is a bit faster but I had an easier time writing a $170K check for my Turbo S than I would if I had to write a $90K check for a Nissan. It's fast, but it's still a Nissan.

Good read/video.
GT-R can't hide its weight but its DSG is very mod friendly with upgrades capable of handling 1000WHP/1000WTQ.
Tuners have yet to come up with power packages for PDK other them basic tune/exhaust.

There is a garage here, run by Whiteknight. He is good at 997TTs.
Was there this week, and saw a GTR, which has a AMS engine/AMS turbo kit.....
Color: pearl white GTR. Was just next to a black 997 TT. Yes a white GTR next to a black 997TT.
GTR looks WIDER, BIGGER, LONGER, HIGHER, TALLLER compared to 997 TT.
Even if it is 2500 hp and much faster than a 997 TT, it does look ugly. Its like a modified Evo 10.
GTR's roof curves are weird, where the roof and side windows meet seem weird.
Interior is leather and plastic. The stereo *****, AC ***** are like Toyota *****.
Even if GTR beats 997TT at the track or straightline, does not matter. 997 TT has a sexier look, better interior quality, and its a Porsche.

Yeh bob don't you just love em. Admit it. Just think what life as a mere mod would be like on the forums without em. You guys would be scratchin to find a fire to put out . You'd be callin for redundancies ..
PS. Nice picard pic find. I reckon i might be able to use that one later too.. if you dont mind .

I call B.S.! The GTR can't lose!!!
It was either
1) Driver error(Yes, even though both were autos with LC)
2) Lane selection
3) Maybe the GTR had more gas in the tank than the TTS
4) Maybe the GTR driver weighs more the TTS driver
5) GTR wasn't broken in yet
6) GTR was a mule car that was abused and running like crap
7) All of the above

Congrats to Porsche! Although I'm not surprised considering they make exactly the same power but the GT-R weighs 330 lbs more. Stock to stock, the Turbo S has proven time and time again that it's faster in a straight line, just as the GT-R has proven time and time again that's it's faster around a road course (even on run-flats).
So yes, the 'drag car' title definitely belongs to the Porsche and the 'road-course' title to the Nissan. This is a huge win for Porsche!!

Yea yea yea..
In a real head to head, same track, same time test the GTR can't beat the Turbo S.

But hey, the Turbo S is faster in a straight-line...and that's really all that matters. Great job, Porsche!

The other tests are bench racing.. Different tests on different days with the results skewed to show the GTR faster. Do you really think that the ring time of 7:41.23 for the S would be slower than the previous gen car?
Bottom line, same track, same day GTR can't beat the Turbo S.

Got it. None of those other times are accurate since it doesn't suit your argument. It's a big conspiracy So I guess that makes the road course score 5 wins for the GT-R to 2 wins for the Turbo S, even though the GT-R weighs 330 lbs more and runs on run-flats.
