Car looks good but I don't know exactly what to expect from all of the disguises.

 

Rear spoiler look very similar to RUF RT12. Also 20" front and 19" rear wheels setup on it!

 

Looks like an acceleration shot, maybe the driver showing off for the camera and flooring it causing the back end to squat and front to raise. Seems most logical.



I must say, the longer body length is growing on me, but I have a feeling I will not like the headlights at all. Hopefully there is something sleek about the front end this time around. If it looks just like the 997, I will be sad.

 

The protruding fog lights look weird, but the rest of the overall car that we can see, looks pretty good. Can't wait to see non-masked cars.

 

Those aren't the actual headlights. Theirs a wrap that goes over the headlights and brakes and they make a cut so just the beam of the lights show through and same with the tail liights. I think it wa car and driver that showed the parts that were fake or covered up.

 

I remember reading about a year ago (I think R&T with mule pics) that the 991T is supposed to have an active front spoiler lip, and active roof spoiler. Anyone remember reading this? The new pics here look to have a movable front lip..

And to the person who posted the pic of the 997 mule that looked like the 996, it wasn't that much of a disguise now was it?

Hell, I bet if you get your average 911 C2 65yr old female owner with a Tiptronic (or whatever new auto trans the car will get that's not single or dual clutch), they can't tell the difference between a 1998 996 and a 2012 (or 13 or whenever it comes out) 991.

 

I was hoping it would look more like the 993...

 

I'm with you on that one -smaller,lighter,wider with less control modules

 

And then there are people like me that say it still looks like an SC...

 

Does anyone know if the 991 will come with a front lift option? The GT3 isn't the only one in the 911 lineup that needs one..

 

Does anybody have a legitimate (based on discussions with higher ups at Porsche) release date for the 991 Turbo ? Since Porsche has 2 years (2011 and 2012) of TTS models and they usually skip a year between TT models what evidence is there that the 991 TT will be a 2013 model as opposed to a 2014 model ? The 997 TT was released as an 07 model around June of 2006 if I recall. Based on this, if the 991 TT was a 2013 model it could be released as early as June of 2012. I'd be shocked if the 991 TT will be released next year.

As mentioned on TS, that's probably due to the covered tail-lights, cover over the model name, fake rear diffuser, and not final-product exhaust(which can be seen in the other pictures), if that indeed ends up being the final exhaust. still sexy though.
