997TT on HRE P40S

I got a chance to meet up with Alex R for some shots of my TT over the weekend (Alex also shot a few Pcars for fellow 6speeders). He's an extremely nice guy and very easy to work with. Alex sent me two teaser shots...

Comments are welcome.

That car looks fantastic. You had this at SoCal Euro right?

Jeff, car looks awesome!

The exposure is too bright, those wheels look almost brushed they are much darker in person.

Your car looks great with the HRE's. Interesting question though, went to the dealers today and was discussing after market wheels and they said not to do it. Stated that the wheels on my '07 Turbo were specifically designed and that no other wheel would work.
Comments..... i had my eyes on the HRE's and didn't understand where they were coming from on the handling and tire issues with other wheels.

That's a really odd thing for them to say? Maybe they meant something else? I mean I regularly sell/ship HRE wheels to Porsche dealerships. The factory wheels are heavier and cast vs something that's stronger (Forged) and lighter with HRE so what's not to like? They work perfect with TPMS sensors and in terms of R&D and engineering no after-market wheel company could complain about their process that's for sure. In 6 years I've never had any fitment problems either so they're as good as they come. They're also big in the club/pro racing scene. If you have HRE's on your mind then don't be worried about going that route.

Thanks for the response. I was a bit taken back by the comment myself since I just asked if they could mount the tires on some new wheels but they went into a 20 dissertation on why I shoudn't go with aftermarket wheels and showing pictures of bent wheels and how the only wheels that will work ar Porsche OEM wheels. I have seen other dealerships offer wheels but this one doesn't.
Once again thanks.

Awesome wheels! That aero kit just does it for me. It should come standard on all turbos. Saw that kit on a white one with full red leather, amazing!!!

But I'm sure they would have been happy to sell you a set of their wheels....

This car is even more amazing in person, being able to look at it from different angles with those stunning new wheels...WOW. And to bad you can't hear how aggressive it sounds, when he comes up my street I can hear him from anywhere in the house.
By the way Lon at HRE, I will advertise a pair of p40s on my white GT2 for free as a favor to you. All you have to do is put them on for me.

Thank you Guy. Yes, car was at SoCal a few weeks ago. Should have parked it at your booth though.

Thanks Lon. Yes, wheels are darker in person, they have special coating, I think they are called "Tinted Brush with clear coat".

The exhaust notes you heard are actually from your GT2 T.
