Looks already a bit better on these pics. Cannot help disliking the front as it seems the 991 has gotten a frog like front or a 'mouth with braces'-look.
Also curious about the rear as the line above the rear lights creates an overhang, looks odd from a side+rear shot.

I'm loving it. The new 991 turbo will be amazing once we see real pictures.

Im just having a hard time thinking how they can add some aggresiveness to this for the GT3, GT2 etc. Im sure they will work wonders, but the design overall just seems soft currently, probably because its so new to me.

Does it have automatic on/off headlights? That's my biggest complaint about my 997.

99% yes. itīs a feature of the panamera, can`t see why it won`t find its way into the 991 as well with all the other gadgets.
by the way: PDCC will be an option for the 991 too now.

I agree about it already looking better, though a red debut car perplexes me a bit. I'll reserve judgement until seeing it on a lot or at the auto show.

I am not that trilled by the first glance. It looks like the front is Cayman-like, rear Aston Martin-like and the side profile reminds me Nissan GT-R. The interior is 90% Panamera - ergonomic, new electronics, but the PKD and gear switches on the steering wheel are wrong choices.

looks really similar to the 997. shoulda just called it the 997.3 not the 991 since it's very similar to the 997. not sure if i like the back. ill reserve judgment until i see the turbo and gt3 model. those are the only ones i care about anyways

Overall conclusion is that i like the car...However it reminds me of cayman from some angles and i hate to see porsche badge on the rear...Every older 911 was recognized as a porsche without any emblem...

i don`t think that Porsche were afraid that their cars won`t be recognized as Porsches anymore. Nowadays every other carmaker has either a brand logo or lettering (Lamborghini, Maserati) on the back, except for Porsche. I guess Porsche saw this as a deficit and started it with the Panamera and now every model gets the treatment. itīs for those customers who want to send an additional message, people who are proud to drive a porsche and want show it. if u don`t like it, itīs easy to get rid of it, itīs that simple.

With the way the designation is set up on the new car, I'd rather just leave the PORSCHE lettering and get rid of the model designation that makes things so busy back there.

I wonder if it will have different rear bumper for the US market to accommodate the small licence plates?

I can't wait to test drive one. This may be the first Porsche of my life. Finally they made one that is big enough for me.
