For those who have implemented the fender well intake setup on a 997tt - 2 questions:

1. Are you also installing BOV's and if so, where? (I've seen some setups on the y-pipe and others on the ICs)
2. If you are installing BOV's are you doing so in addition to the stock diverter valves or are you somehow eliminating those?

Some like the bov on the intercoolers ( as far away from the maf) and some just put them on the y pipe . If your running a maffless setup it really does not matter.

You do not run the stock units with the after market bov .

Also to run after market bov venting to atm. You need a blow throug setup and tune or a mafless setup.

I'm running the protomotive mafless tune. So how do you get rid of the stock diverter valves? I want to run some BOVs from Synapse Technologies.

then take the stock ones out, and you can either buy a y pipe and have them put on there, or you can have some one mount them on the ic's.

I bought the latest IPD ypipe and plan to mount the new BOVs on it. My question is, can I simply remove the stock diverter valves from the turbos and fabricate a plate or something to cover the resulting hole from where the valves used to mount?

the diverter valves are not on the turbos , those are waste gates.
the diverter valves are on the top pf the motor towards middle .

yes , that whole area goes away once you put these on the ypipe and run vacume lines.

The diverter valves are located on the turbo's on VTG's so yes there would be a whole to cover ,it's when you switch to GT or Alpha turbo's that you use waste gates i'm pretty sure, did you get the blow through y-pipe like mine ,i'm running this set up with fender well intakes ,maffless & we had to remove the whole air box for this thing to fit in there .

Yes that is the same y pipe I bought. So can I just fabricate a plate to cover the hole on the stock turbos resulting from the removed diverter valves?

Do you have more pictures of your setup?

Just to clarify...you want to remove your DV and simply plug them up? How are you going to control boost?

Sorry I got confused and then confused you. I'm just wondering if there are any big differences in setting this up on a 996tt versus a 997tt.
