Sticking coolant temperature gauge

The last few times I have had the car out, upon start up the temp gauge stays at the zero/rest level. The chime sounds and coolant failure warning message comes up. After about 1-1/2 mins it jumps up to normal and warning clears. Any other cases of this out there and is this a precursor to a larger issue? Car has 19K miles and is an '07.
Thanks.

I don't think it's a big issue. Please take it in to your local service center and get it check out. it could be your temp. sensor, wiring, or even instrument cluster... have the trained technicians check it out
