[QUOTE=speed21;3301793]Sad day should be happy day my friend. Sounds like there was some deliberation in the decision. Is the 63 black the same as J Clarksons? GL. I'm sure we'll be seeing you back soon.

So ronnie is the ride really as shocking as what Clarkson and Hammond say it is? On their accounts it's apparently a real bone shaker.....intolerable on anything other than a billiard table surface.

[QUOTE=cgng30;3302834]Keen to hear your report ronnie. Saw it reviewed on top gear a couple of weeks back (a repeat obviously). Like all cars there is a time to own and a time sell and i guess that time came for you on your tt. Anyway I'm sure you will enjoy the new benz regardless of how she rides eh. Worse case you can always change it out for a 991 when the right deal comes about.

yes sir, i have seen a pattern that i keep the cars around 3 to 4 years, and i get bored, so yes definately a 991 would be in the horizon . This was the next best thing without spending tons of money

[QUOTE=cgng30;3302846]3 to 4 years usually does it for me too but the tt is an exciting car though compared to past porsches. I'm driving mine less and less these days unfortunately but in a way that's probably keeping the interest strong. I still get a real kick every time i get in it but I suspect 991 may alter my perspective once the turbo surfaces. Until then it'll be 997tt though .

I actually looked into buying my old car afterall, but Porsche shipped it back to Germany due to the high milage to be sold 'somewhere'.
Hence, I did the next best thing; the slant. Something one of a kind and really collectable.

I think I understand.
The PDK is an engineering marvel uncontested in this regard however to a point of overly clinical...which is an aptitude requirement for his profession...unlikely however to be desirable in his driving pleasure characteristics.

not at all. I would say it is a softer ride than my 2008 997tt with the bilsteins. Clearly a firm ride but fine for me as a DD.

[QUOTE]Both Clarkson and Hammond said the ride was unbearable and clarkson owns one so i guess it must pain him to admit it. Bilsteins are too jiggy for street imo.....a bit like a buggy ride. One reason I'm staying with stock shocks.

Hey I am sure you can find another super nice 997.1 turbo, sell the 997.2, and get some bucks back. But you will take a beating on the 997.2 resale wise unfortunately.
