escort Red lines radar detector

Hi,

has any one has experience with the Escort Red line radar detector? I am thinking to buy an Excort radar detector but not sure if I should get the 95001x or the red lines

Tks

If you driving long distance especially interstate a radar detector may make sense to have to keep you alert and entertained. In everyday driving it is a nuisance and creates a false sense of security, and it would be useless against laser.

The Redline is an excellent detector. Currently it is the most sensitive windshield detector on the market. It is best on highways, because of its incredible sensitivity it will give you many false alerts in city/suburban driving. The 9500IX is less sensitive, and works better in a city/suburban envioment.

I have the Redline on the far left side of dash and V1 on visor on far right. Finally Escort has something to measure up to V1 which has been the standard for years. On Ka and K, often Redline will beep a bit earlier, but not much, and has an automatic reduction in sound in a second or two which the V1 lacks. I have had the Redline repaired once in 12 months whereas V1 has been trouble free for +7years. I still, if I had to have only one unit, most likely would stay with V1. I traded my 9500ix which for me was a loser, for my redline.

If you feel the V1 gives you too many false alerts, than the Redline will give you more. It is much more sensitive on K band than the V1. I would recommend the 9500IX or the 8500 X50 Black line (brand new radar detector)

Do you know Dr. Graver from GRD?

Did you turn off X band on your V1? That would remove 1/2 of false alarm at least. Putting it into the Intelligent mode will further reduce false.

Redline is about the same as V1.

As for 9500Ix, it's not sensitive at all. Almost as desensitized as my $75 Cobra. Many positive didn't get picked up. The red light camera alert didn't work at all even after database update. I returned it.

The key to the 9500ix is to disable the autolearn function. I have seen too many true threats be locked out by it. If the GPS symbol is spinning that means you are in a lock out area.

The OP should not turn off x band because it is used heavily in his area.

Yes, I was targeted like 2 months ago in the Franklin Lake area by X band. it was such a surprised and the police car is right behind me for like 2 minutes and finally took off. I will not turn off the X band

I have had the 9500ix since it was introduced. Replaced a previous Escort. I love the learning capabilities to sort out and store false alerts, the auto reduced alert volume after a few seconds , the fact you can update on online to get new speed camera sites and I feel it gives great early warning. I have tested it against the new k40 and others and it came out on top.
This site is very partial to V1 which I have not owned or tried. I would definitely recommend the 9500.

My V1 was driving me crazy with false alarms until I disabled both X and K bands. Now every alert proves to be a real threat, at least in California; other states may use X and/or K bands.

How do you turn it off? Do you mean by putting it in full logic mode ("L)? I have a V1 in "L" mode and I never get false alarms (I'm in Ca). I had a K40 built in that came with the car that gave annoying false alarms ALL the time, until a cop pulled me over and confiscated the whole system (literally ripped it out of my car) because apparently, it had a built in laser jammer! Neither I, nor the dealership I bought it from knew it had a jammer! Sorry to steal the thread. Just wanted to give my 2 cents on the Valentine 1
