clutch slave/accumulator question

I'm having the stiff pedal upon startup which I understand to be a symptom of an issue with the slave/accumulator.

I had a leak about 2 years ago that was repaired under warranty. I've been out of warrnaty since May and asked the dealer if there is anything they could do.

they said they would need to diagnosis the problem and then see what PCNA had to say.

Just wondering what would be the range of potential parts that would be needed, and approx. cost at the dealer?

They may cover it, I'd push for that. Well known problem and clearly updated parts were not used during the first repair.

Happens over and over and over and since the 996TT days. Just a flawed set up unfortunately. I'd imagine they will warranty it.

I have had it replaced three times on two different Turbos but always under warranty. It's pretty common. I have seen it on rennlist for 996 Turbos as a sub $300 job with parts and labor at an indie.

No, I have the same Clutch with a LW Fly-Wheel.

I just had my 977TT in for accumulator issue. Porsche picked-up 90% of the bill. This was 1 month out of Warranty for me. I ended up paying $175. Not bad....

If they don't warranty it do a GT2 conversion on the clutch.

They replaced mine under goodwill, I paid like 10%....and I was way out of warranty.
The two factors for pcna were repeat porsche buyer and good service record, ie let them do all the svc. The bill would have been like 7k.
Moral, always let the dealer do your service. In the end the service mgr has to push it to pcna.

Too right. Knowing these cars can experience inherent faults of a very expensive nature, full dealer service history would definitely go a long way in achieving a positive outcome. Cheap insurance in my book.

Agree that dealer relationships usually pay off - what did they repair that was going to cost $7K?

I bought my car used with a ClutchMasters Stage 3 and LWFW. The clutch had always been a little stiff to push in. Last week, I had the EVT700 kit put in by a local shop and they told me they noticed the stiff pedal and replaced the accumulator for me. OMG, I couldn't believe the difference. My leg will no longer get cramps in traffic!
