CEL -P0011-Timing Over-Advanced
Got a check engine light and after scanning it saw P0011-timing over Advanced or System performance. Car seems fine, idles and runs fine.
I did search on this and saw it is a common issue on the turbo and that sometimes is sensor related, but did not find anyone with P0011 CODE. I erased the code and did not come back, however i just got this car 2 weeks ago and certainly not feeling right..
Anyone??

Might be related to P0021 know issue, these cars are know to have the variable cam slip and lose it function and be stuck in a static position. If you car is under CPO it will be covered under warranty.

Car has 53k..No mods. Warranty in the works. Another member had this issue and seemed to be only Cam position sensor..but we'll see.

Well I just got a CEL yesterday and the Cobb reader and Durametric say p1100. That code is something like "air mass ahead of throttle valve implausible". I know that Durametric switches the order of the code so it is probably p0011. I read a few threads suggesting swapping the actuator modules etc... Any other advice?
I will first log the actual camshaft angles. I will also change the oil. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a spun camshaft sleeve. I already went through that with the p2100 code - the camshaft was changed under warranty, but the warranty has run out. Fingers crossed...

so what is p1100 then???? That's the code Durametric and Cobb gave me. It may not be the latest version of Durametric.

I logged the actual camshaft position for banks 1 and 2 (mislabeled above) and it seems clear there is a problem. The actual ignition angle is all over the place in my datalog and it pulls timing even on part throttle. It drives just fine but I'm glad I checked the datalog now. I just changed the oil today and will reset the cel and see if that helps. The x axis above is time in seconds. I rowed through the gears up to 4th gear in this log.
A couple of years ago when I had the p2100 cel with the bank 2 camshaft the cel came on when I was on my way to the track. I drove the car fairly hard that day and no ill effects as far as I know. Later the camshaft was changed under warranty. But now that I've seen all of the knock sensor activity with the current cel I'm guessing that I shouldn't drive the car until this gets sorted out. I presume the labour to get to the actuator is the pricey part so I may just buy an actuator and have the bank 1 actuator replaced. If that doesn't work then I'll have to prepare my wallet for some pain.

I changed the oil, reset the ecu, and took her for a drive. There is less random timing pull in the datalog but I still see a little fluctuation occasionally in the actual ignition angle. Sometimes it shoots waaaay up for a brief instant. No cel yet but I can't help think it's coming imminently...maybe I'll just order the actuator since it's a 2 day wait for it and no point having the car in the shop waiting for it if it turns out to be the problem.

Are there any other parts that could cause the p1100 code (apart from the camshaft itself)? Porsche and the Indy want 4 hours labour to troubleshoot and swap the actuator from side to side to see if the problem follows the actuator. I know there is a 2 day order time for the part. Not sure if they would charge me more labour to then change the actuator after they have put the car back together the first time. Makes more sense to me to just pay to switch out the actuator on bank 1 and if it doesn't work then.....
