Best Tune for 2012 911 Turbo S

I currently have a 2012 turbo s with full Fabspeed exhaust, intake, and Evolution Motorsports tune all installed by fabspeed. Before I did these upgrades I unfortunately did not do enough research and feel as though the car is more capable with these mods. My best run in the 1/4 has been 10.8 at 129mph thus far in very good conditions. Are there any other tunes for my setup that are better than the one I am currently running? Thank you.

In my own opinion, the 2011/2012 turbo S is already one heck of a car in terms of raw power and handling in its out of the factory form. That's why I chose to get to know the car better before I do any mods. I have had the car for about a little over 1/2 year thus far, and the only mod I would possibly do is the exhaust. Besides the exhaust, I'm probably only looking at cosmetic upgrades such as rear wing and aero kits.

I understand but I am looking to push the car further soon and upgrade to VTG turbos but I was thinking about getting a revised tune for the mean time if there was something much better out there as far as tuning goes and maybe holding off of the turbos for a little while.

The best tune for your car is no tune. Your car is a monster as is straight out of the factory. Just like I love my lady the way I first saw her, flawless... At least in my eyes.

S is fast, but it's not a 9 second car.

With all-wheel drive and Porsche’s seven-speed, PDK dual-clutch automated manual, which features the best launch control we’ve experienced to date, the 911 gets out of the blocks in a serious hurry: 2.7 seconds to 60, to 100 mph in 6.4, through the quarter-mile in 10.8 at 129! Although the PDK gearbox wasn’t quite as prompt as the Ferrari’s seven-speed—and it’s possible to experience a hint of turbo lag if you’re one gear too high—the acceleration is linear, potent, and extremely habit-forming.

I know... but his car has a exhaust, tune, and intake, so you think it would be faster than stock.

The S is already tuned ahead of the std 997TT so your gains wont be as much with the EvomsIT on a non S. I have a non S and did the EvomsIT which brings my car to the same level of power as an S with their tune- per their dyno's.

10.8 at 129 seems pretty good to me... I think your 60-130 would be a better measurment to gauge the tune's effectiveness.

10.8 @ 129 seems pretty good to me. I think you need to establish your goals and then figure out whether a different tune/set-up will actually allow you to achieve them.

You could install hardware that's good for 1000whp in the PDK car, and it's not going to make it any bit faster then a PDK car with 550whp.

The PDK control system will limit the amount of power the car can actually produce. So whether it's technically got 1000hp or 550hp....it's the only power put to the wheels is going to be what the PDK control unit allows.

This is why you see such consistent results from PDK equipped cars. 10.9, 11.1, 10.8...you'll be right in that same range no matter what hardware you add to the car.

This is plent of car for me as well. I plan on running it bone stock and smileing every mile. I modded an M3 pretty heavily with Dinan gear and a Mazda with HKS gear and in both cases the cars were awesome and ran great....for a while. The the problem from over stressing becasue quite evident and both cars were sold cheap to get out of the money pit business. I just can't see where this car bone stock at 2.X seconds is not enough for a street car or a track toy. I know more is always better with $ and HP but the HP many time comes at the expense of the reliability.

Good Luck to you.

Do you have a roll bar in your car?

My car was tuned by ETG Tuning Group. Forum sponsor. The car is night and day different in terms of power and torque. I was refered to them by Porsche of Livermore. Had car tuned and dropped in BMC fliters very happy. The founder and owner Jags was great to deal with.
