10.79@129.1 Turbo S last night
I had seen some write ups about the car and was excited about the numbers they were posting but also a bit leary about the accuracy of the claims. I have a Protomotive/Motorwerks K24-18g 996tt that on race fuel would put down 11.7's at 128.
I can't say I am a pro at launching a 6sp car and I never pwr/speed shifted the 996tt to do any better on my 1/4 time because I did not want to break anything.
So I have almost 2k miles on the car and figure it will be ok to see what lauch control is about. I get to the drag strip around 9:30pm and it is 80 degrees. I line right up and stage the car all the while thinking to myself, "I sure hope I read the book right on how I am supposed to do this".
It just felt weird to have the brake on with my left foot and then plant my foot down on the throttle to the floor. But I saw the motorcycle next to me finish staging so I knew the 3 count would begin so there I go down on the throttle half way holding my breath I don't break anything on my brand new car.
The RPM's go up and level off at around 5k, I did not see any other indicators on the dash or steering wheel telling me GO or LIFT but was not really looking as my heart began to pound. The 3rd and last light flash and I have been at 5k rpms about a second and I begin to see the green and the bike to my right take off.
I lift the brake and the car seat begins to SUCK ME IN as the gears change in a lightning fast way. That first to second shift induces a loud Yelp out of my mouth. The entire run the bike who left the line prior to me stays within an eye glance in front and then its time for the PCCB's to do their job and slow me down.
I don't know what I could have done but if I ever felt a perfect launch out of the hole it was what had just happened. I pull up to the ticket attender and he is on a walki-talki with a flash light shining in my car saying "no no roll bar". I say what did I run and he says you were in the 10's and you can't run again all out until you come back with a roll bar.
All of a sudden the price tag on the car was that much more confirmed to me. It was it and that was that, I needed nothing else and will not be putting a roll bar into my DD that I haul my kiddos around in. I just needed to know what it would do.
FANTASTIC is all I can say!

Impressive for a DD. Did you have PSM switched on or off? I read in another post that turning it off gives you quicker times.
Looking forward to doing the quarter at my local drag strip once I've run her in.

I have a new hero
Sounds like someone had a blast..I recall being at the track in 08' and seeing a brand new stock Nissan GTR Running mid to low 11's and we thought it was impressive then as it was all meant to compete with the 997.1 and look at the times you are able to attain without any hassle..I too read about this but i am more of a see to believe guy and I am sold
Enjoy her in good health!

Very nice! Anything below a 1.6 in a street car will yield a very nice 1/4. Rear will drive street cars would love to clip off sub 1.6 60fts like you with ease.
