no need for so much line spacing ...
I had IPT Transmission in New Jersey do my 996TT tiptronic. They upgrade every gear (except R), rebuild the VB and use blue top solenoids. They also use a ceramic clutch for the torque converter and set it to whatever I wanted (we did ~3,300RPM...).
So far it has worked well. Unfortunately, the tuning ability of the TCU is much better in the 997 than the 996

daily driveability is not an issue with a good high stall torque converter...mine is set all the way to like 3400 RPM or so and no issues.
Its kinda nice...if i accidentally daydream at a stop light the car doesn't really move when you let off the brake

Here is a small video from one of our customers,
You can see how fast our Tiptronic kit changes gears and holds the power of twin Garrett GT30 turbos

I'm also curious what ES Motors can do for the 996TT Tip? Also, What exactly is the problem with doing a 996 TCU upgrade? How is it different from the 997? I know quite a few 996 owners who would love to get big HP from there Tips.

I, just spoke to Neil at Switzer for the second time. He is not a Sponsor here on 6SOL so he can't comment on this Thread. He told me he Never had any Tip's Slip under 700HP with his Tuned Package over 700HP he said yes. I, wanted to Speak with him directly before I order Switzer's 600kit. The 600 kit w/test-pipes=650 total. With the power loss of AWD & Tip a Switzer 600-650kit should make 520 at the wheels with 93 Octane and their ECU,TCU stated from Neil. I, don't think I have to worry about Tip-Slip. I, personally don't think upgrading a Tip($6-$8,000 w/Labor) and buying a VTG Kit for ($9-$11,000) is worth the outcome for an extra 100HP give or Take! This is my .2cents
