Week one in the 997 TT
So I've had the Turbo for a week now and have had the opportunity to put a few miles on her. Details as follows:
<O
List of mods:<O</OWerks CF splitter, GT2 skirts, rotec carbon rear diffuser, rotec led tail lights, 20 ADV' w/pilot sport, bilstein damp. w/ hr sways, Tubi street , 93 Softronic tune. Sachs Stage 2.5 clutch.<O</O
<O</O
Factory notables:<O</O
Sports chrono, PCCB, adaptives + painted back white, stitching everywhere, Axle diff. All options in leather and CF.<O</O
<O</O
My take:<O</O
<O</O
Exterior: pictures do not do the Turbo justice, the lines in person are so much more pronounced and absolutely beautiful.<O</O
<O</O
Power and performance: OVERKILL + ABSURD. I'm still getting used to the power as this is my first P-Car. Torque is amazing, 1st gear is dangerous and very short I'm doing everything I can to not hit the limiter, third gear pulls are smooth and long and happened to be my favorite. Only regret is not having the opportunity to have the car in stock form prior to the tune. I guess I could load the stock tune but I think I'll leave her as is. With Sports Chrono engaged the boost increase is obvious however the power band does not feel as linear. Not sure if this is specific to the Softronic tune or all TT's.<O</O
<O</O
Suspension + Braking: Bilsteins feel great. Ride is smooth ,comfortable, and planted. With PASM engaged the change is immediate and noticeable. The car feels completely different and I must say I prefer this setting. I do not know how aggressive the setting are on the HR's but I'll fiddle with them as time goes on. PCCB's are amazing, pedal feel is excellent, very sensitive and most importantly no brake dust. Using the wife's duster on my wheels is a first for me!<O</O
<O</O
Interior: Major improvement from the 996TT(buddy has one). Deviated stitching and matching painted back seats really add to the car. CF goods add a bit of sportiness to the car and the all leather options add elegance. Oh the adaptives fit me perfectly( 5'10 @ 165) and feel great when you tighten up the bolsters. <O</O
<O</O
Upcoming: A few subtle mods I've done and or working on. Driver door key hole plug (Thanks Eric), OEM short shifter, and maybe down the road a nice set of track wheels/tires.<O</O
<O</O
Attached are a few unloading pics. Thanks to all those that helped with my questions, thanks to the forum and thanks for reading.<O</O

Beautiful car with great mods but you are right, few things are bit over kill esp the tune/clutch and may be suspension ?
I almost bought your car but it wasn't meant to be. I want a car for DD but this car got to be a weekend driver Had i bought this car, i would have ended up purchasing another car to avoid putting miles on this one.
Anyway, i am flying next Friday to where else,PA,to pick mine up
Enjoy and be careful

definitely get a short shifter - the longer you wait, the more you will kick yourself that you didn't do it sooner.
2nd is my favourite gear - keeps me out of impound range.
i agree that the interiors really blow away the 996 model

You are the first person I have seen suggest this. Do you have one that you recommend?

Congrats on your car. I would really recommend that you get your car out on a track and really see how much fun it is to drive it! With your set up, the only thing you would really need to do is fresh high performance brake fluid ( Motul 600/650 ) and make sure your pads still have plenty of meat. Taking your car to a nice road track is one of the things that many P-car owners fail to do and its really too bad as they are missing what their car is really built for. Enjoy and be safe.
