Trofeo's are here!

Better jump on them while you can. I purchased them for my GT2 and TTS. Both Bob Woodman Tires and Frisby Tires either have them on the shelf or can order them out of Atlanta direct from Pirelli.

I have not mounted mine yet but they are obviously soft and nice read pattern.

They are less expensive than the Corsa System track tires.

Sizes? Wear rating? Price? I vaguely remember GMG's thread on these, but thought Pirelli was halting production for other projects.

Here is the direct link: http://www.pirelli.com/tyre/ww/en/ca...ro_trofeo.html

I paid $503.00 for the 305's and $321.00 for the 235's.
For the GT2 I paid slightly more for than $535.00 for the 325's.

Well that's concerning. If a large distributor can't even get a hold of them, then what happens if you blow one out? Kinda up $hits creek if you can't find a replacement.
Any head to head comparisons of this tire with MPSC's, R888's, etc?

I have a set of brand new R888's and the Trofeos for my GT2. When I take possession of my GT2 (being built) I will post a report.

They are supposed to be...I will find out. Independent studies show they are much better.

You will have been one the first one on this forum who compares them head to head.

I would be very interested in your impression of the 2 tires against each other. Not just performance, but (maybe even more importantly) harshness and noise, as a number of us here use these tires on streets also. BTW, worth mentioning that the R888 is about 20 lbs heavier (!!) than Corsa, total all 4 corners: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...iffness-2.html

From what I could read (basically, unsubstantiated rumor), R888 could be noisy, and Trofeo is a more track oriented Corsa?? The price seems very nice - I paid 2400 for my N rated Corsa! It's ok - that would be the last time I buy N rated tires.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport vs Pirelli Trofeo

How does the Trofeo's stack up against the Michelin PSS in handling, gripping, noise level and tread wear?

Anyone know?

TIA

The MPSS is a street tire and the Trofeo is a track tire.

Trofeo will probably be superior except in the wet. It does depend on what variant of the MPSS we're talking about as the Ferrari K1 version has very good grip, which seems to be similar to MPSCs, but the Trofeo will probably be better still, as it's a new design, whereas the MPSC is getting on a bit.

Just ordered a set of the Trofeo's, which I'll mount in the spring. Was going to get MPSC's next, but for $500 less I figured I'd give these a shot.

I may replace my MSS's on my TTS prematurely and see what they will do for my 0-60 and 0-100 V-Box Times. With my upgrades my best times stand at 2.5 seconds (0-60) and 6.1 seconds (0-100). However, I am spinning a bit when using LC and hoping the Trofeos will improve or eliminate the spin leading to better times. How much? Only the good Lord knows but certainly a -10th or -2 10th's should be a realistic number.
