The hood is an easy section to have resprayed. A good shop can easily remove it, match the paint perfectly, and have it looking like new. It will run you a few hundred, but I think It will be well worth it for you. Just find the most reputable shop in you'd area, preferably one that specializes in Porsche, exotics, or at least German cars. The hood is low drama.

wouldn't they then need to paint some of the surrounding areas to blend it or no?

Nope. They will remove the hood to prevent any over spray, and repaint the whole hood by itself. They will color match it virtually perfectly. I had mine done and it is show quality by the time the Detailer is done with it.
