Introducing Myself..Looking to Join the 997TT Crew

Hello, all.

I've been lurking here for years, literally. I've owned 2 928's and have wanted a TT for a LONG time. I finally have the means to do it and now I am in the hunt. I just had a deal fall through on a Slate Grey 2007...so onward I go.

I'm positive I want the following:

1) Stick
2) Hardtop
3) Sports Chrono
4) Black/Natural Grey or Sand interior (depending on exterior color)
5) Still under warranty (after market a bit sketchy IMO)
6) 2007 or 2008

I would like the following:

1) heated seats
2) adaptive sports seats
3) rear axle lock
4) some deviated stitching and extra leather
5) Parking indicator
6) Pioneer radio/bt mod already done!
7) PCCB

I'm TORN on colors. I love Carmona and Ruby Red--but never can find them. I really like Meteor and Slate Grey, and White. I'm not sure if this is going to be a daily driver (have a 335 I might keep) so I'm a little worried about the flashy colors (like Yellow) and even white might feel a little flashy...but I do love that color too. Black is beautiful, but damn that is hard to keep. Not a fan of any silvers, brown or cobalt or green...sorry, no offense.

I'm obsessed with keeping my cars, so I'm going to need a really clean car. I'm willing to fly/travel anywhere.

I've been looking here, Rennlist, cars.com, autotrader, hemmings, craigslist...am I missing anything?

If any of you are former 928 guys, I had the 89 Red GT that was supercharged in the Bay Area.

So, there you have it. Looking forward to finding the right car and looking forward to joining this community. I have read every post for the last several years, so I feel like I'm up to speed, but I really welcome input and if anyone is selling...

Good luck to you. I did not have to look for long and got every thing on both your wish lists except 6 & 7 under "would like". It was a difficult deal and nearly fell through several times, but worked out in the end. Had less then 2 days of seat time before going out of the country, but loving it so far!

Good luck on the hunt. If you plan on tracking the car then you may want to stick to steel brakes but if street use only then the PCCBs are great with zero dust.

I have read that as long as PCCB are not tracked regularly that they are fine. I will likely do 3 or 4 events a year. Too much?

welcome aboard! PCCB's will do fine with 3-4 events a year We'll keep an eye out! There's a lot of good deals out there for the MK1s.

Thanks, Alex. Looking forward to coming by the shop with a new car and talking about mods!!! Though I have only met you once, I have read hundreds of posts so I feel like I "know" you. Too odd this internet.

Good luck. Remeber the search (as with other things in life) is almost as exciting as ownership, so enjoy it as much as you can.

dont forget that if you are a die hard ipod or bluetooth - you might want to look at 2009 cars.
