The AWE Tuning GT2 RS Build.

I'm betting the AWE system makes more torque to push all that extra weight and parasitic losses.
I'm betting the GT2RS weights closer to 3200 lb. Porsche loves to quote weights for their raciest cars with the AC delete option

This is very interesting. The GT2RS has been timed at 28.9s from 0-300 kph, and dyno'd 593 rwhp. The AWE 750R package for the 997.1 TT dyno'd at 630 rwhp and turned 28s from 0-300 kph (into a 20mph headwind and with a soft launch) at the TX Mile. Considering the additional weight (500 lbs) and parasitic losses of the AWD system, the 750R package seems to deliver as promised

We began building the exhaust for the GT2 RS by taking cues from the AWE Tuning 997.2TT Exhaust System. Amongst other highlights, a cross flow balance section connecting the cylinder banks to sweeten the exhaust note as the revs climb, full T304 stainless steel construction, V-banded bullet mufflers with composite acoustical packing, and massive slash cut RSR style laser etched tips. German made 200 cell HJS HD metal core catalysts are part of how we guarantee no check engine light.
All of AWE Tuning’s Porsche exhaust systems are made completely in house.
Tone? Sure. None better.
Naked rear? Well, we’re partial, but this is one of our favorite views.
Stay tuned for dyno testing!

Thanks. While the system is constructed from 304 stainless, it has only gained one lb over stock. Its utilizing 200 cell cats and 3” tubing – and is showing a notable and very nice change in low end torque. Stay tuned!

I'm certainly looking forward to following this 'dream' project. What an incredible car!
That's pretty commendable that you only gained one pound over stock despite using 304 stainless. I suspect the stock cats are likely heavier than the 200 cell aftermarket units, so you probably had some help there. Awesome job, and looking forward to more results!

that was on a blend of 93 and 104 octane, roughly 50/50. That particular event the headwinds were strong enough to cause most cars like the new Z06's and Vipers to run 7-11 mph slower than the last event. There were a couple of bikers that got blown off their bikes at over 150mph. One of the more recent events saw a good tailwind that made for record traps

I have run the unleaded Sunoco 104 and VP 103/109 without any problems. Some of the 996tt guys with big turbos occasionally run the high octane leaded gas (MS113, C16 etc) for some of the shootouts. I don't want to ruin the HJS cats on my AWE kit as they are not cheap. I might consider adding toluene as an alternative to leaded race fuels
