Washed my car today and...
It turn out great... well no that great but next week it's going to be detailed
Anyway... I remembered reading somewhere in a thread about water getting into the engine compartment so i check to see how bad it was.
OMG, i almost had a heart attack
Next time i'm going to cover the engine with plastic... but... what about rain?
Sometimes, when it rains, it pours.
I think i will never drive this car in traffic when it's raining hard.

You have ultrallegera wheels? Can you give me parameters of you set?

Nice, that's the same I get in mine plus foamy soap from the car wash (07 TT). Hit 5K RPM and drop the clutch, that takes care of water on all the belts, then engage the ABS; that should dry off the rotors and pads enough. And, as a bonus, if you let enough time pass between dropping the clutch and engaging the ABS then all of the water on the outside even goes away (why did Porsche ever put a rear wiper on the 911????).

I will buy same wheels next week, but I have question with size! If I will buy 12j for rear, what tire I need for rear? 315, 325?

EXACTLY!! That thread you're referring to is probably mine! I can't believe a bunch of engineers desinged a car that gets so much water on the engine!! You can't tell me that it's normal and that they designed it so that the belts squeal, power steering pauses and alternators give fault codes when you wash it or have it sit in the rain!! I always joke that Porsche is designed for everyday...except when it's raining. In fact, I have seen all sorts of pictures and videos of the engineers showing off the car in the snow and the desert, yet never in the pouring rain. Does it not rain in Stuggart???
Anyway, the best advice I can give you is to cover the engine bay with a large towel, then close the lid, then wash your car. This will keep the majority of water out. But even then, as soon as you remove the towel and close the lid, water will drip from the fan onto the belt and you will have belt squeal for the first 20 seconds after startup. It's really comical that you have to do this with a $140k car!!

Weird - I wash mine quite often and living in the North West, it's in the rain every third day - LOL, and not a light drizzle either. Additionally I have taken it though numerous car washes... All I have ever experienced is a slight sequel from the belts for about 20-30 secs and then all is good. I've never had any squels when driving or in traffic under rain... never.
Are you guys shooting the water down the vents intentionally?
Can't imagine how that can happen... hmmm
