Saying Goodbye to the 997 Turbo

Saying Goodbye to the 997 Turbo
This was one of the toughest things to do because of many factors. There are many vehicles we build at Vivid Racing that would be worth holding on to, but we have got to keep up with the Jones'. This is in my eyes one of the best project cars we have done. I personally had to seek advice on whether to sell it or not. But knowing where it has been and what it has done, the new Porsche was calling our name. We had no intention of ever getting the 997.2 as we had already done R&D on a local car here and would wait for the new 991 Turbo. But with probably a year away, we wanted to revisit the newest of the new.
We bought this car bone stock 3.5 years ago with only 3000 miles on it. Having done well in the 996TT market, we still needed to prove ourselves to the Porsche community and the 997TT was the new thing. So we began and took the 997TT to a new level. Having basically developed a complete line of parts for the 997 Turbo through our sister company, Agency Power, we had started to leave our mark. The things we learned, the products we tried, the impact we made, this Porsche 997TT was recognized all over the internet world. Having developed a 825 and 900 horsepower kit, we piloted this car at the March 2010 Texas Mile event to 206.2 mph on the stock engine. Still running as a daily driver, the sexy Vorsteiner VR-T aero kit helped mark a change of what was the norm to what is possible. Collaborating with KW Suspensions, we again took the coilover market to a new direction with a suspension setup that made the PASM system unnoticed. As we ran 3 different sets of HRE Wheels on the car, the final C93 wheels are something that help define why HRE is the best in the wheel market with their lightweight and strong products. We have 1 more trick up our sleeves for the 997TT, even though it is now gone... So stay tuned our Blog Here.
For those on the East Coast, you will now get to see this car up front and close as it makes its new home in NJ running with a crew of other Porsche owners. Like past Vivid Racing project cars, we hope this continues to represent strong in the hands of its new owner. Selling this vehicle was tough, but as a mobile marketing tool now, it will only help show others the capabilities of Vivid Racing. You can view every step of this Project Car build stories here and a gallery here of hundreds of pictures since day one.
Say adios to Project 997TT, but tune in tomorrow to see the debut of our new 2011 Porsche 997.2 Turbo S project car!

Good riddens JK
I tell you it is a beautiful beast you have built over the years and I have seen it evolve into something very special and I know it is very hard to let it go BUT I understand you have to focus on the business and keep the emotions aside.
