Launch control with manual trans???
I have a 08 997 TT this is my first Porsche ever so please forgive me if this is a stupid question.. I do have the crono package, as I've been researching only found out its only for the tiptronic ,so that made me confused as to if you can use launch control on a manual..

thanks for clearing that up .. So... well I guess would be the next question is in a race from a stop how would you optimize takeoff without launch control??? Im in alaska so I have not yet had time to properly learn my car,as the roads arent up to par yet..Do I drop the clutch on a rev or do I take off hard on the throttle after the clutch has been engaged??.. I dont want to ruin my clutch like all these guys around here in their wrx dropping the clutch on damn near full boost..
I am also wondering how they get thier 3.7 0-60 time on a turbo w/out launch control as Im sure most of you know on the porsches I found out 1st gear is really short..Then I thought (and this is me pulling an Idea out of my *** lol) are they doing a 2nd gear launch while dropping the clutch on boost.. Idk..Im sorry if this is a stupid ?

Every time you drop the clutch, drop $10 in a coffee can for a new clutch. If you drop the clutch, you put wear on it. If you slip the clutch, you put wear on it.

This is a great post and would love to hear other 6speeders on how they launch their cars properly and without excessive damage. It would be nice to see a POV video with someone doing a nice launch. I try to launch around 3-4k RPM by slipping the clutch (vs dumping) and I often experience a bit of hesistation / bog right after the launch.

9/10 times you will be quicker than your opponent (assuming theyre driving a manual as well), if you do a fairly SOFT launch.
Ive noticed my car almost slingshots off the line if i launch at 2300-2500.
The car gets off the line with MINIMAL slippage, and because of the exhaust and LWFW, it is able to get on boost within 10 feet.

^modified/non modified really wont make that much of a difference.
our cars (stock or tuned) run STOCK boost in first gear.
so weather you have a stock 997tt or a 700hp vtg monster, 1st gear will see the same boost.
