Help Pls: "TPC Inactive" - What does this mean?

Dammit. I just got this fault show up on the dash today just as I was bringing in my car to get my tires swapped out.
This 2nd rate shop was hesitating to install tires on my car in the first place (tires too wide, profile too low, blah, blah). Unfortunately, there's no competent shop within 200 miles of me and had to take it to the 'best' I could find locally based on recommendations. So, when the TPMS inactive code popped up, they told me that they couldn't 'legally' install tires on the car and let it leave the shop with the code still active. I'm sorry, but this is a crock of sh*t, right?
Anyway, banging my head against the wall because I live in an area where there are NO competent shops to do even simple maintenance work. Because of this, I may have to sell the turbo.....

My alarm went off at around 4.5 years, 40,000 miles. The replacement requirement is so infrequent and these batteries last so long that I think it's best just to replace all 4 if your car is around 4-5 years old and an alarm goes off.

Thanks for the correction. So this is confirmation that Durametric does read battery life of the TPMS sensor inside the wheel? Does it read a percentage of battery life left or something like that?
