It will not be at the same level of protection of a clear film. It is more protective against the shallow micro marring, or spider webbing, caused by drying, automatic car washes, etc. the plus side though is if any shallow scratches are introduced they are on the coating and not the clear coat.

Like most manufacturers, modern day clear coats are rediculously thin. They get thinner every year. Clear coat is precious. Anything that you can do to avoid putting defects in it the longer the paint will last. Remember, a scratch is actually a void which means the clear coat is being compromised to a point.

i have been trying to not wax and wash so much LOL. I dont like the film because I dont think it will ever look as good as paint.
