I am not sure why your mobridge is actually working right now.

The Mobridge install instructions specifically require that if you have a CDC-equipped car, it be looped out exactly as it was done in your car by the original installer with their optical bypass loop cable.

The CDC then gets removed from the list of installed devices via PIWIS to get rid of the error. In order to program the car in the first place, the mobridge must be turned 'off' / bypassed first (5 clicks on a little button thing that hangs off of it).

When it is removed, there will be a blank space in the list of devices. You need to be sure this space is removed by moving the devices underneath it up in the list. I read about this online and saw it in-person when my dealer's tech went through the process in front of me.

If everything is working fine right now then that's great, but if something goes wrong in the future you at least know what to look at - don't lose that loop cable

djben and Bobby, you guys are right; I am not touching this thing with a 10 ft. pole. I am having chest pain already just thinking of re-pairing when I get a new cell phone!

One thing I should add is that I don't know what the 2 dealers have done as far as PIWIS manipulation. I don't think they did anything but I am not sure.

djben, just for future reference and for the other 2 Mobridge owners here, I did look at the install instruction below and did not see any mentioning of the loop. Did I miss something in there?

In that specific document, Page 12 mentions looping out the CDC at the rear of the Cayenne (if it is equipped).

Mobridge's site mentions that any 6-changer CDC equipped vehicles should have the CDC looped out of the MOST network here:

http://www.mobridge.us/compatibility...48/13144/13155

You can also see here the installation diagram mentions looping out the CD Changer with the bypass loop:

So yeah. Have a beer.

Thanks dj. Yes I see it now:

"has to be "looped out" of the MOST ring if iPod functionality is required."

So it seems I was blessed with blind luck; a narrow escape, but an escape nevertheless. Yet another weird chapter of Mobridge's weirdness is now closed. Cheers.
