08 997TT Seat Memory Switch Programming

I have read multiple listings, tried the owners manual instructions, made phone calls and am still unable to program the seat memory with either key. Every time I use key 1 it moves the seat and i have to adjust it. Can someone provide a step by step instruction that works for them with a 08 997 TT Cabriolet set up? Thank you for the info.

Switch the ignition on with the desired car key. Reverse gear must not be engaged. Set the desired seat and door-mirror positions. Keep memory button M depressed and additionally press key button 1. The individual setting is now assigned to this remote control and to the key button.

I recently posted about the death of my Key 1. I'm using Key 2, I also have issues with the seat program taking on a 07 997 TT.

Key 2 in ignition car running, car in park, I set mirrors and seats, Hold M button while pressing number 2 for five seconds or more. Next time I unlock the car the seats and seat moves to old position..? I like most like to have my seat and mirrors inch perfect so this gets very annoying. Also the old Key 2 driver must have been 4' 1'' so it takes a good minute to get the seat to where it belongs.

Can a combination of a dead Key 1 and seat memory issues on Key 2 point to a larger problem?

Thanks,
otoppero
