Solved my turbo lag issue

Actually EPL did.

Symptons
15psi boost showing but would build way too fast and without that great pull. And top-end pull was not there.

Everything was leading to air leak but none was found, no faults on dash.

There is a ball and pivot pin coming down from the turbo electric actuator, the bottom of that pin had popped off.

This was causing an overboost situation and shutting down throttle on the highend.

I put the joint back on and I got my car back, yahoo!!! It popped off once, so it could again, I may have to replace just that pin or little pivot joint. but that is short money compared to what I thought I was looking at.

thanks EPL!!!

New wheels arrive tomorrow, slightly excited

is this visible with the car on the lift? If so, where is it? My car has similar symptoms, and I would love to check this pin.

Thanks.

If it's the pin I think it is, it's the same one covered by the service action to check the pins on the VTG actuator.

(note: the pins are unfortunately, not serviceable, the way to fix them is new turbos. !!!)

Yes, I fixed it on a jack. See this thread, I posted a pic. Look up in front of the turbo. I think technical name is vtg actuator arm.
