Any previous Z06 owners?
Just sold my 550rwhp Black/Black Z06 2008 and while I'm not looking to just jump into a P-car they have always held a special place in my heart.
I have alot of experience with the 996 and NIL with the 997.....what type of bolts etc would be needed to get that 130mph+ trap that my Z had?
Looks, interior, style, etc are all 997 just need the umph. I'm open to any advice from previous owners, enthusiasts, or the forum benchracer......
Thanks.

Hey man, I just sent my 11 Z06 in to the dealer and going to pick the Turbo up tomorrow.
You figure you buy a 07 to 09 TT which have the venerable Mezger motor which has 40 years of race proven history. It's like an LX motor in Chevy land, with stock internals supposedly good for near a 1000 but that's ragged edge. 700 wheel, with about 20k in mods (give or take) That includes upgrading the VTG turbos, intercoolers, full exhaust/headers, spark plugs intake/piping, injectors and do a street tune and a race tune and maybe some meth, and you will trap well into the 130s maybe higher. The roll on power will be pretty nasty...
Good luck! I can't wait for mine!

You could go to A3076kit for 950bhp or mid 800 on wheels for littel extra cash

I think you'll find a lot of guys have graduated from BMW's to Porsche's. Different mentality all together when you think about it.

Clutch is going to need replacing in a 6 speed the moment you drop a tune into it. Some guys get away with it, but if you drive it like you do a nasty Z06 revving to redline and shifting hard, it will go quick. Tip will be faster, but to me the sound, the feeling of shifting, or toe healing a tuned Porsche is simply unparalleled.

Depends on kit you choose. It should be fine with 750kit but after that it is highly recommended to reinforce it. Also keep in mind that tip will loose %8 of the power comparing with 6speed. Stick with 6speed bro.

The only thing that will really bug you (it sure did me) is the horrible shifters these cars have. Tiny little cable with plastic ends can never even come lose to holding a shift **** that is stabbed direct into the trans. I have the 997 SSK in my 996 and it sucks.

Yet even losing 8% the tip is still faster.... and you wont hate it in the long lines of traffic. Actually on second thought you won't even hate having a Tip. Went from an SMG M3 to a 6sp and kicked myself, thats after owning 6sps my whole life. Very glad I went with a tip

To the OP...check out some old posts from 'CAMDON'. He's got a new turbo S now but his prior turbo was a 997.1 tip with an ECU/TCU tune and exhaust only. Best run of 10:48 with best trap @ 131.
