07 911tt CPO in for its "post purchase inspection" - oil leak & turbo!
#16
If you bought the car from a Porsche dealer then I'm pretty sure the CPO is not the one done for a previous owner. CPO warranty is not transferable to the dealer but only between individual sellers. So if you bought it CPOed its a new one and the car is supposed to have been through a thorough inspection at the time of sale.

kitw,
I am sure you are correct on both points, thanks for the response! I never claimed to be anything but a dummy in mechanical matters.
Re: actuator rods -- how often do they need lubing? Is this something done at interval service? (i.e., the advisor didn't mention it as part of the 40k service) or is this something the owner would normally do himself or?

It turns out that I tried to order the lube from the dealership and they wanted $50 for a can. Might want to just ask them about the TSB (print it out from AWE or something) and see what they would charge you. I think it allocates .5 hrs or so. It's really just spraying a penetrating lube that turns into a grease into the arms, which are accessible from underneath the car. I did it myself, but will probably have the dealership (or an indy!) do it with the proper lube.
